I can't wait to see this card combo'd with Twin Emperor Vek'lor for two 8-drops.
But when you talk about elemental destruction... Don't you know you can count me in. ALL RIGHT... ALL RIGHT!
ahh Beatles references. love 'em
When I first saw it, there was a slight typo (first 'minions' said 'minion') and I thought you only got to evolve one of your minions. So you could attack, perhaps doing the usual trade and leave your minion at 1 health deal, and then evolve to get a full heal and a probable upgrade. Seemed pretty good.
But this? This is just terrifying. The amount of potential value is absurd.
I really don't think this card is as great as people are putting it out to be, and this is coming from a Shaman player. This card is certainly not BAD, or even Mediocre, but it is not the end-all-be-all of the game. (ON SECOND THOUGHT, NO IT ISN'T!) I guess I will have to test this card out in two days to see if it works in a Midrange Deck. I guess that's just part of the Old Gods Hype. Also, Al'Akir the Windlord and pretty much every other Shaman legendary hype!
Can you possibly give any example of a shaman deck that this card actually would not work well in?
Example: Totem Shaman. Turning one of your Totems into a Doomsayer, or any other garbage two drop for that matter. Midrange Shaman is a deck that wants you in the lead. Why would you potentially shoot yourself in the foot with that deck. Not only this, but evolving say, a Fireguard Destroyer or many of the other strong Overload cards that Shaman has would be counter-intuitive.
(Overload cards are getting a boost with Eternal Sentinel)
With a card like this, it is easy to be too optimistic. This does work well with all of the Shaman legendaries in one way or another.
The new age Midrange Shaman is not the only way to play, especially considering that in wild, Malygos Shaman, and Aggro shaman(also in standard) might be terrifyingly strong, with Rumbling Elemental and Brann Bronzebeard Battlecry Shaman looking to be a fun gimmick deck similar to Hobgoblin Warlock. A great card(I gave it a "very good" rating), but not Meta-Defining like Master of Evolution. The easiest comparison I can give is Shield Block to Shieldmaiden.
Now Hallazeal the Ascended, That Sh!t is hype.
(My opinion on this card with Totem Shaman took a complete turn)(It is actually terrible in that deck.)
I feel like the Doomsayer/Garbage two-drop argument up there isnt really valid since Shredder could do the exact same and yet it was the best 4 drop in the game and played everywhere
There are far less two drops in this format, and about an 8% chance to get a Doomsayer, and the 2-drops this set are far underpowered compared to those in previous expansions.
Piloted Shredder was so good because you played it as a minion, and whether you got Millhouse Manastorm, or something garbage, it always gave a body, essentially making far better than anything else. Evolve requires board presence, and in Shaman, losing that is not good whatsoever. Lots of times, you can get something far worse than you already have, given Shaman is a deck with lots of powerful minions(the 7-8 option is the best). Potentially losing you the game in cases when you use it on a Hero-Power Totem, giving you worse minions than you already have is not good. It is, still a great card, but not as broken as you think,Master of Evolution on the other hand, is the better of the two Evolution cards. I'll most likely be running 1 copy of this card, and possibly two, but not on in Totem Shaman, the two drops so far have not been worth it.
Time Leap.
This card seems broken to me.Shaman will have board control most of the times and with this...well...
As for the randomness who cares? You can trade so you completely clear the enemy board and then evovle your stuff,so you not only heal but making your stuff propably better for 1 mana.Or you can simply smorc(chargers are weak) and then evolve your stuff.I hope i am wrong but this seems like the next Mysterious Challengerwith out the need for a secret deck.
People didnt see one of the probably strongest combos yet, if you mix this card in a Cthun Deck and play Twin emperor Veklor, you can pretty easily turn this 2x 7' drops into 2 8' drops and 8's have the highest average quality, there are literally no bad ones and tons of crazy Rhonin ragna shredder tirion..even grommash or allakir.
Afterall one of my favorite cards in this entire Expansion, maybe a lil bit random, but just like a shredder you can calculate the outcome pretty good.
No bad 8 drops except for The Boogeymonster...
Its at least a little better if you summon him via this.... not by much though
4 people on 1069 hate Charles Darwin
So it's hero power of heroic version of Lady Nazj'ar attached to 1 mana card that affects only your board? Preeeetttyy gooood.
lol, what a stupid text this card has..
Perhaps this has been said a lot, but this is going to turn your totems into Doomsayers literally all the time. So busted though if it doesn't hit any drawbacks.
Another card that made me consider playing Shaman again once WOG is released.
