I am running something similar to this. The issue i had with my first iteration was that i couldn't trade with the 2/3 cthun drop nor the 3/4 cthun drops in subsequent turns. Additionally you need to compensate for the general 3/6's with taunt and even 5/7s with taunt in the case of druid which doesn't boast well for this deck at all.
I ended up with this:
N'Zoth and the Dragonlord fit nicely as long as you can hold out for the end game. Nzoth brings Sylvanas and Tirion back if they've been played or even the Dragonlord himself. It has won be many games and usually ends up with a concede if i get ANY N'zoth value.
Twisted Wargen trades with their 2 drop on T2 or its coin out for you on T1.
Sylvanas to deny high drops or steal them.
Spellbreaker becuase owl is 3 mana and this has better stats anyhow and will trade with 3/4s that might be around.
Repentence because when a driuid decides to drop something massive he gets screwed. Same with priest.
Deck is legit. I have had great success against all C'thun decks (although the Rogue one is super strong), but it's 50/50 against the aggro decks depending upon the draw. It struggles a bit against mid range shaman and heavy control decks but can hold its own if they over commit. I feel the main problem is that it's lacking efficient early game to combat aggro and push for tempo.
In my opinion the deck does not need Acolyte of Pain or a second Dragon Consort. The value of both keepers and Truesilver (combined with azure drake draw) has meant that i'm rarely short on cards. Also, I have found the cost reduction is only useful to set up a turn 7/8 Deathwing. The 5/5 body just isn't that useful. I have also been debating whether the Doomsayer and Forbidden Healing are necessary. I have played many match ups and neither have been that useful, although I do see their potential. I have tried a few things:
Currently I have removed Forbidden Healing, Acolyte of Pain and 1 Dragon Consort. I have replaced them with 2 Blackwing Technician and 1 Argent Lance. I think this makes the deck more consistent and whilst retaining its strength.
One final thought is about trying to fit Justicar Trueheart into the deck. Since you want the game to go mid/late it's a no brainer. It's just finding space in the deck! I was thinking of taking out a Tuskarr Jouster and seeing how it went.
Cheers for the deck. My favourite part is literally never spending mana on Ysera.
Personally I think the Jouster is better than the forbidden healing. Since there is less efficient removal in standard mode tempo is very valuable. The 5/5 is generally more useful since the spell only really shines if you can combo it with the pyros to clear as well as heal. I tend to save the pyros for equality.
Even if there are a lot of aggro shamans around, relying on one card is just as inconsistent...
PS. I haven't included Justicar yet as I feel I am winning enough without it.
I don't have keeper , any replacements?
Thank you very much for this awesome deck. I've had more success with it than any other WotOG decks out there. It's fun, annoying to deal with, and down-right naughty with all the healing. The new Raggy is simply epic. ^^
I managed to get up 4 ranks with this deck. It's win ratio is pretty high. I only lost 2 games. One to a C'Thun Druid where I didn't draw too well, and one to a Yogg-Spell-Mage, where his Yoggy pulled through for him. Other than that .. this deck has been crushing all the C'Thun decks out there.
Theres already 9 dragons in the deck and Hungry Dragon, isnt a great card to begin with. Truesilver Champion is way better for the clear.
<snip> It also has some tech cards like eater of secrets so you just win aginst freeze mage(Which there is going to be a lot of), hunter and secret paly.
Looks like a solid deck. We are not expected to have that many aggro decks around, so I would probably leave only 1 doomsayer, as a "ticket out of jail" card (plus, it'd make tuskarr jouster a lil bit more solid IMO). Still, the big dude here is Rag; since this deck is like a Dragon-Healadin, the real threat for the lategame is the resilience. However, I don't know if my gimmicky mind wants more dragons, or it is actually worth it, because as it is right now, Ysera by itself won't really justify the 10 manacost of Deathwing, Dragonlord. I would put some bigger dragons and cut some earlygame control cards (and maaaaybe 1 jouster?). And btw, you have a ton of boardclear potential, so i'd include Solemn Vigil and probably take the aco out.
Thank you for your post, dragon decks are my favorite, and I'm also theoricrafting in hopes that they might me powerful in the exp. :)
You want to add dragons that either have no battle cry, or have negative battle cries (that won't be triggered).
Original Deathwing, Chromagus, Nozdormu, Hungry Dragon, and Malygos (if taking Mal, redesign your deck to have more spell damage).
nah this isn't it
Needs Chillmaw in my opinion. Even Nozdormu could be added. Deathwing just doesn't really have any value minions to pull out.
