Just wanted to share this deck since i got a high win rate with it. I will write a more detailed guide later on when i have more free time. Enjoy
I have been playing more off stream and trying new cards in the deck so i will post a more polished version when i feel it is as good as I can make it.
Edit: -2 Fierce Monkey for +2 Blood To Ichor. This helps the curve a bit more and lowers the amount of 3 drops.
This is my first guide so I will try to make it as best as I can.
Card Choices: I like Emperor Thaurissan because he cant set up some major combo's with Grim Patron and Armorsmith which can save your life with aggro decks. Try to use him when you most of your AoE/ Whirlwind effects in hand.
Hogger, Doom of Elwynn is good because he can counter a big C'Thun while still maintaining a board to keep C'Thun from hitting your face. He can also work well with Armorsmith and Whirlwind effects to stop agrro decks and keep you alive.
Try to use Frothing Berserker your to set up a big minion that makes your opponent waster a turn to deal with it or just use him to kill your opponent.
Mulligans: For most match ups try to find a Fiery War Axe & Armorsmith. This will help slow aggro decks down until you can make a Grim Patron board.
I appreciate that you are actually posting direct replies Wolfatin. That is all too rare and super awesome!
Thanks. I like to try to connect with the community, make new friends, and just have fun. Something that seems to have died out with most game communities.
I figure you considered Sir Finley Mrrgglton, but chose Emperor Thaurissan or Hogger, Doom of Elwynn instead. I've sometimes really enjoyed swapping armor for mage, priest, or warlock powers. What was your reasoning for the pick?
To be honest it was because of all the C'Thun Decks I have played against. Emperor Thaurissan can set up some giant armor gain combos and Hogger, Doom of Elwynn can all together counter a C'Thun especially if you have Armorsmith out. But really Sir Finley Mrrgglton works better if you don't play against many C'Thun Decks. Also I have been super busy working so I haven't played much the last week so I don't know what decks are being played currently.
Would you say the new patron decks are better than the old decks from prior wotog? They lost Unstable Ghoul and Death's Bite but the new cards look decent enough (especially Ravaging Ghoul ) while they also counter the new C'thun, Divine Paladin and Zoo decks.
Some gameplay footage for the start of season 26: WotoG Patron Warrior
The meta is to fresh to know how good Patron decks will be later on but from the new cards it feels better. Losing Unstable Ghoul for Ravaging Ghoul is good and bad. You lose a good taunt but gain the Battlecry of Ravaging Ghoul which can set up a possible OTK turn with Frothing Berserker. Losing Death's Bite hurts but Bloodhoof Brave is a good 4 drop replacement and a big taunt for aggro matchups making the Unstable Ghoul loss alright. Other than that we will just have to wait and see how the meta shifts and where the deck falls into it.
Grom tends to be your finisher for most games. The best i could think of is rag but only if you can use him to win.
Leeroy jenkins comes to mind, but is sub par. Serves the same role but with less damage.
can hogger be replaced with ragnaros the firelord or the black knight?.. if not.. then tell me some nice replacements for hogger (prefferably non-legendaries) <3 btw. great deck good work so far <3
Both of those work well. If you are playing more control based desks with a lot of taunt then go BK. Otherwise try out Rag. But I am not sure how well rag works outside of a win condition.
I agree with you. I just had Hogger because of all the C'Thun decks that popped up. He basically countered the Battlecry for me in most matchups.
Rag is good. But black knight has its value this meta too. Nzothpally's Tirion/Psychotron, Cthun deck's Veklor/Worshipper. Shaman 5/5.
There have not been a lot of aggro match ups where I lose the board. So I have not needed it.
What about adding Blood Warriors?
That is a good choice. I am trying him as well for a 7 drop since Hogger can be hard to get value out of. I do like Hogger against C'Thun though since he can keep making taunts and absord most of the battlecry damage. As long as you don't have my rng and get cursed blade you should be fine.
For Hogger you can try Malkorok but other then that with Dr. Boom gone it is hard to recommend a solid 7 drop. On my EU account since i don't have either i am running 2 Slams for more card draw options. You can try that. As for monkey try Cruel Task Master, Blood Warriors, Tentacle of N'Zoth, or even Revenge for another whirlwind effect for patrons. I'm not sure which one is best atm but i am trying each of them out.
Deck seems solid strong! Also patrons and doom of elwyn are ridiculous counters to C'thun. +1!!
Thank you. It means a lot to me to see that you like the deck. Since it is getting some attention ill make up a guide for it and have it done by Thursday.
