Welcome to my Franky Priest, the Frankenstyle deck!
Intro
Hi everyone! I always loved to play priest and had great fun with the "dragon priest", with the "Zetalot priest" and all other kind. But to be honest, I never had such a blast playing priest than with this deck! It crushes the meta, a lot more stable than every other C'Thun's decks and punishes hard the SmorC Shaman.
If you look at C'Thun's decks, the moment you play C'Thun is a blast, often a win. But to get there you have to play with average minions to buff your C'Thun. This deck allow you to play with very powerfull minions from the begining and have the same crazy finish with N'Zoth, the Corruptor. I actually never lost after playing it.
Strategy
The strategy is quite straightforward, it's all about controlling the board, making values plays, playing your Deathrattle cards and then finishing off with N'Zoth, the Corruptor. For those that are familiar to priest, you will find all the actual ways of playing it, with the draws and the common priest mechanics. I will not go through it now but I can of course write an in-depth guide if requested.
Card Choices & Key Plays
In this section, I will explain why I picked some cards over others and give tips/answers on how to use those cards. Do not hesitate to ask anything in the comment section if you would like to know something else or more details on my choices.
Why 2 Shadow Word: Death and 2 Entomb ?
Two words, Face Shaman. Shadow Word: Death is the best way to deal with Flamewreathed Faceless so if you are facing Shaman, I would go for a hard mulligan for Shadow Word: Death. And Entomb will give you lots of power against C'Thun control decks.
Why Embrace the Shadow?
I find this card very usefull and reliable in many situation. VS Aggro you always wait for your combo Auchenai Soulpriest and Circle of Healing to clean the board. This is one more way to combo the Circle of Healing. But I also often play it in combo with Flash Heal to remove big minions. 2 Mana for Embrace the Shadow, 1 mana for Flash Heal and 2 mana hero power allows you to hit a target spending 5 mana for 7 dmg.
Why 2 Excavated Evil and no Holy Nova?
Well I think that WOG and C'Thun decks makes you face more 2 drops with 3 health. And as priest lost Lightbomb, I've the feeling that you need good AoE and 2 dmg it's not enough. It's often either you clean the board or you loose. So I find Excavated Evil more reliable.
How to use Wild Pyromancer?
This card is really usefull in 2 ways. If you are facing an aggro deck, I would use the combo Wild Pyromancer + Power Word: Shield to clean the early minions' board and keep it under control. If you are facing mid/control deck the best use of it would be Wild Pyromancer + Northshire Cleric and you play any spell to trigger the Wild Pyromancer, then Circle of Healing for drawing a lot of cards and take big asset on the game.
Why not adding more Deathrattle minions?
Simply because you dont need it. Trust me, the turn your will play N'Zoth, the Corruptor, the game will be done. I believe that the deck is a lot more stable like that.
Cards replacement
Here I will talk more about the possibility of changing/Tricking the deck and replace some cards to adapt it to the meta.
- If you think you don't need a taunt : 1 Wild Pyromancer instead of 1 Abomination.
- If the meta is full of weapon's class : 1 Harrison Jones instead of 1 Entomb.
- If you feel a bit greedy : 1 Herald Volazj for 1 Entomb.
Deathrattle cards
If you miss some of the deathrattle cards in the deck, here is a list of all deathrattle cards playable in standard. It will also give you an hint on what you can get from Museum Curator. Again I can write a in-depth guide about statistics if requested.

- Zealous Initiate

30th of April: I took one Wild Pyromancer out and put an Abomination, I feel like it's important to have a taunt and this card provide one more AoE against aggro. When you play N'Zoth, the Corruptor it feels good to have a taunt to protect your other minions.
30th of April: I took the Twilight Summoner out. I think it's a good card but a bit slow, didn't have enough impact the turn you play it. I added one more Entomb because I needed more hard removal against C'Thun Warrior, C'Thun Druid and C'Thun Priest.
Youtube Video
Thanks to Shissan for a cool video with this deck!
What do you want?
You want your Deathrattle minions to die! So you can bring them back to life! Play with no fear of death! It's ALIVE! IT'S ALIVE!
Hope you will enjoy playing it and sorry for my non-first-language-english.
Have Fun!
Thanks :)
Yeah good times with this deck, and I really like the Embrace the Shadow card. I think it will see more play in the future (or I'm hoping it will at least)!
Here is a game Vs. a Yogg-Saron Mage, and please forgive the major misplay with the Brann Bronzebeard removal (and the first Doomsayer as well...math is a challenge!), or the lack of I should say lol
This deck is a blast to play :)
I switched one Flash Heal for one Darkshire Alchemist for a little more flexibility
I like this idea as well man! Hmm I might need to give it a try
Having great fun with this deck. I didn't have Embrace the Shadow, so I substituted my golden (gee thanks) Spawn of N'Zoth for extra N'Zoth, the Corruptor fun in the late game.
I checked my stats and I'm 7 wins and 2 losses; even better than I thought I was doing.
fyi - I'm up to 29 wins and 12 losses with this deck, despite a couple of stupid misplays on my part. The deck is solid.
Can I get a mulligan guide and your rank on deathrattle cards (for museum curator choices) Thanks! Great deck
Hey, I'm working on it, you will have it soon!
Just an thought, but I tend to prioritize discovering (with Museum Curator) a deathrattle minion that fills in what's missing in my current hand. For example, if I'm playing him on turn 2 and don't have a good play for turn 3 or 5 yet, I'll prioritize a 3 or 5 mana deathrattle minion over other things in the list. Keeping tempo in the early game is very important, as most of your power is in the late game with this deck.
Well of course the mulligan depends on the match up. But I guess you are speaking about Aggro/Face match up. Then I mulligan for : Wild Pyromancer, Circle of Healing that you will have to use in combination with Injured Blademaster to take the board or with Embrace the Shadow or Auchenai Soulpriest to clean it. The goal is to take as few domages you can in the early game because you have more than enough control or ways to clean the board in a mid/late game.
So just had the most interesting time playing this deck. Played against a n'zoth hunter and well the game turned to a excavated evil inception till he finally gave up. The execavated evils cleared both his and my N'zoth plays....It had to be one of the strangest games I have ever played.
Nice deck. 78% Winrate so far :)
Hello!
Yesterday, I came up with a remarkably similar deck. I even had the same idea with the abomination.
I don't know if I can post a link or if it's better to let you click on my account but I invite you to check my version out. I would love some advice.
The biggest difference is my emphasis on auchenai effects with Darkshire Alchemist and Corrupted Healbot.
I rely more on these cards for removal and board control because I don't really like double Entomb and put a single Mind Control [/card] instead, stole a velen and a c'thun with it.
[card]Embrace the shadow is really something I want to craft now.
I really like your list and will be taking some inspiration.
One thing that scares me with abomination and excavated evil is how easy it can get for your opponent to deal with your post N'zoth board. This is why I did not make the change when i thought about it.
I will make changes and testing when i come back from work.
some follow up on these experiments?
Ah hello!
I have continued to tweek my version of the deck and kept a description of the updates on my own decklist page.
I suppose I will drop a link for the sake of simplicity:
http://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/525329-so-sweet-a-nzoth-control-priest
As a quick summary:
the abomination messed me up too much, two games in a row my opponents played my excavated evil on the abo for an easy clear.
I am now testing with infested taurens to some success.
Embrace the shadow has been an excellent addition.
I do have some other differences with Frankenstein's Priest, notably I excluded Blademasters and curators from the start, i do not think they add much to the deck.
Haha awesome! I hope you will enjoy it! :) I would say Corrupted Healbot or Wobbling Runts could make it before you get Cairne Bloodhoof.
Well you can try with Elise Starseeker. Doesn't serve really the same goal but Elise will give you a good late game.
Great deck!
But I suggest you replace one Excavated Evil with one Holy Nova
Because VS control deck they can easily clear your N'Zoth deathrattle with two Excavated Evil they got from you
