Hello everyone, before reading the guide please understand that this deck is not easy to play and it's very rng dependent, you might lose some games because of really bad discovers or bad draws, but if played right this deck can have a pretty good win rate. (Also every card used in the deck is playable in the majority of mage decks or any other deck so don't worry using dust to try it out.)

 

Some quick tips :

- Use spells to remove your opponents minions as much as you can.

- Do not use spells to deal damage to your opponent unless you have lethal on the current or following turn and you know that he can't heal.

- Don't just pick the most playable minion/spell from the discovers, consider the state of the game and choose the option with the best outcome for you in the current or following turns.

- Because of the Doomsayers picking freezing spells is always good if you can use it with them.

- It's very important to get some value out of Brann Bronzebeard which means using him with Jeweled Scarab, Azure Drake, Ethereal Conjurer and Faceless Summoner. (And sometimes with Cult Apothecary if you need the healing.)

 

Cards that can not be replaced : Mana Wyrm, Sorcerer's Apprentice, Jeweled Scarab, Brann Bronzebeard, Flamewaker, Azure Drake, Ethereal Conjurer and Faceless Summoner.

 

Replacements :

- Arcane Missiles --> Arcane Blast --> Forbidden Flame (At the time I was testing the deck there were quite a lot of divine shield aggro paladins so I thought Arcane Missiles was better.)

- Doomsayer + Frost Nova --> Flamestrike (I believe Frost Nova or any freezing with Doomsayer is way better than Flamestrike because you can also discover it but if you want to make this change then I suggest that you also use 2 Mirror Images.)

- Ice Block --> Any of the suggested spells. (You can also discover Ice Block so it could be replaced but I believe one in the deck is good.)

 

Mulligans :

With coin : Arcane Missiles, Mana Wyrm, Frostbolt, Jeweled Scarab, Brann Bronzebeard, Flamewaker and Doomsayer.

Without Coin : Arcane Missiles, Mana Wyrm, Frostbolt, Jeweled Scarab and Doomsayer.

 

How to play : Generally it plays like tempo mage with the exception that you have a different board clear (any freezing + Doomsayer), keep in mind though that the Doomsayers can also be used on an empty board so you can take back tempo. Also make sure to follow the tips listed above. And lastly, don't be afraid to use Cult Apothecary on an empty board for tempo if you have nothing better to do.
