Hey guys,
I am a long-time legend player and a big fan of Shaman (even way before all this annoying Aggro thing got popular) and I always try to make viable Shaman Decks that are not mainstream.
Currently I am nearly exclusively playing Reno decks. The reason is because I love the feeling of working with limited resources and outvaluing my opponent. Since you usually dont run dupes in Reno Decks, every draw you get will have to be used very carefully (Lightning Storms, Hexes, etc.).
So I had a lot of success with this Reno Shaman in the past days, bringing me up to Rank 2 (on Europe). It does fairly well and makes a lot of fun!
But before you try this deck out, you will have to consider this:
1. Do you like cheap decks?
2. Do you like fast games?
3. Do you want to auto-pilot games without thinking a couple of turns ahead?
4. Do you want to aggressively bring down and finish your opponent before turn 8?
If you agree with at least one thing, you are probably wrong here. This deck isnt supposed to kill your opponent fast, but rather grind him down. You will outvalue him in the long-run and sometimes, even be able to finish the games with the monkey or Yogg.
Sometimes you will be very frustrated if you dont draw the things you need early enough and it can always happen that this Zoo Player will just kill you on Turn 4. So you do need to keep in mind that there will be times where you can get really crushed, but on the other side, once you get running, this deck makes a lot of fun and you can always hit the enemy off curve because Reno Shamans (and Reno Decks in general) dont seem to be very popular right now!
So if you like
1. Long games
2. Outvalue your opponent
3. Play every game differently
4. love the kick of playing Tier3 decks and win against Tier1/Tier2 decks
5. love playing with 27 Top-Decks and especially
6. love the feeling of playing Reno close before dying
then this deck might be good for you.
Mulligan is fairly easy:
Just go always for your early cards, i.e. Lightning Bolt, Stormcrack, Totem Golem,Oooze (if its a Hunter, Warrior, Shaman), Healing Wave (if it´s a Shaman/Mage) and Storm (if its a Zoo/Hunter Player).
Notable cards:
I really like Charged Hammer. It creates so much value if you manage to stabilize midgame and start pinging down for 2. Also Charged Hammer works against Oozes/Harrisons, since you get arguably the best non-basic, non-heroic hero power and dont get hit that hard after getting your weapon destroyed.
Nerubian Prophet: This cards seems a bit off, but it´s actually really good. since you can play it on turn 3 if you start the game and contest the board pretty early. A Turn 3 Prophet into a Turn 4 Evolution Master is really just insane, since it gives you a 7-Drop (which besides of Acidmaw, is usually worth it, and sometimes game ending if you get Antonidas/Confessor/Corrupter Hogger). But even if it´s "just" a Bog Creeper it means that you have a 4/5 and a 6/8 with Taunt on Turn 5. Your enemy will have to invest a lot to contest that.
I hope you have fun with the deck! If you ahve any questions, feel free to ask!
Hello, do you think Alexstrasza (hallazeal), the BGH or Doomhammer (Charged hammer) fits in the deck, btw i think it's pretty good ;)
Thank you so much for sharing this deck. Shaman has been the only class I liked to play since I started playing the game (about a year ago). I hate playing dumb meta decks so this deck is a perfect fit for me. This deck is a blast to play, I cant wait till i can play it in its full glory once I craft Bloodmage Thalnos. Again, thanks for sharing this super fun deck and party on, dude.
I'm glad I could brighten your day :)
Thanks for the suggestions for replacing Thalnos, I was using Gadgetzan Jouster just because I love that card, but I think you are right, your suggestions will probably be better until I can get Thalnos.
Nice unique deck!! The only small issue with it that i see is that it lacks draw. What cards could you add for the draw aspect? Thanks in advance :)
This deck is bad and relies entirely on card draw. Zero consistency.
The deck has a lot of cards that will lose the Healing Wave joust.
Yo
Nice deck man i've been searching for a deck like this one for so long, thanks a lot
btw do you have any replacement for hallazeal (don't have the dust yet)
