Important update: Due to the hyper aggressiveness that the 3rd wing of Karazhan brought to the meta, I replaced the Twilight Summoner with Bloodhoof Brave and Deathwing with Alexstrasza. You can also watch the changes I make to the decks and testing of the new ones on my stream twitch.tv/urkoth
This is the deck I used to reach legend on day 6 of the new season and it is a control/fatigue deck. Had a lot of fun with it. Will go in-depth if it reaches 50 upvotes, you can ask any question and I will answer in the comments. I'm gonna mention that Tinkmaster Overspark was insane in some situations and that I played Arch-Thief Rafaam instead of Deathwing until rank 3.
Mulligan: Some people say that you should mulligan hard for Fiery War Axe but I'm not one of those people. Try to get it but don't throw away things that could help you in some matchups. If I don't have the axe in the opening choices, I will keep Slam and Revenge against warlocks, as well as Bash. We usually want some early game against most of the meta right now. Some of my own choices include keeping the Brawl against warlocks, Execute sometimes against druids and Harrison Jones against shamans, since Donghammer is their ultimate annoying win condition against us. I welcome you to trust your gut during your mulligan.
Matchups:
GOOD: Dragon warrior, ALL KINDZ of shamans, Yogg Druid, Zoo, Freeze Mage. Notes: Farming dragon warriors, zoo, yogg druids and shamans is pretty good since they're most of the things you see on the ladder. Most of these decks are tier 1 so there's a slight chance that you can lose if they draw perfectly and you don't but you should be fine otherwise.
EVEN: C'thun warrior, Miracle Rogue, Tempo Mage, C'thun Druid. Notes: I didn't meet many of these decks on the ladder and I would actually put them all in the good matchups category except for C'thun Druid, since I usually won games against these decks. It's important to mention the strategy against C'thun warrior - try not to draw cards, bait out his C'Thun by playingSylvanas Windrunner before C'Thun is played and then transform him with Tinkmaster Overspark. If that C'thun warrior is playing Elise Starseeker instead of Doomcaller, try to play N'Zoth after his Golden Monkey but if you play it before it, it's still fine since he will take some damage and lose the fatigue war usually.
BAD: Midrange Hunter, Renolock Notes: I don't even have a negative score against these decks. I know control warrior can struggle against hunters but this wasn't the case while I was piloting this deck. Transforming his Savannah Highmane with Tinkmaster is a huge thing, especially if it becomes a squirrel. Renolock is a bad matchup because of Lord Jaraxxus, that hero power is just bonkers. Try to burst him with Gromm and a weapon, a buff spell from Ach-thief Rafaam is nice if you're running him instead of Deathwing
Thanks Drevor, Justicar is really irreplaceable in control warrior right now. Other choices can pass.
Hey Titan_HS, I love your decks man! You introduced me to the mighty Nexus-Champion Saraad and since then I used him in my every control deck. I use a more control oriented deck rather than fatigue and without N'Zoth, the Corruptor.
My question for you is that I'm seeing Tinkmaster Overspark very much recently in Control/Fatigue/N'zoth Warrior decks and how good is he? Is he worth crafting?
Keep up the good work man!
Thanks for the kind words Speedspaz, I like Tinkmaster! I'm testing Barnes now but Tinkmaster is just awesome IMO.
Cool vid, Ertiolavara!
Awesome job Evest. I hope you had fun with the deck as well, you definitely piloted it right!
I replaced Deathwing with Ragnaros the Firelord and i've found it works pretty well.
Also replaced [card]Tinkmaster Overspark[/card] with Barnes Its a massive win if he summons a deathrattle!
Good changes, TerryTibs!
Yes.
Who cares? :)
This deck is really awesome!
I am 12-3 w (80% winrate). My changes: Harrison -> acid swamp Ooze; Deathwing -> Rafaam; Tinkmaster -> Elise!
works really great, different winning conditions, very reliable in mid/late game. Early is sometimes a bit tricky, but i guess it always is, when it comes to drawluck!
Cheers Mate!
Your changes make it better against control but glad it,s working out for ya sinonis, cheers!
Not trolling. Actually want to know. How the holy hell does this deck EVER win? It has no early game. I was happy when I found this deck because I had hope for Control Warrior again, but I get destroyed by one face lock, face druid, face warrior, face shaman, and/ orface hunter after the other. Not having anything to pray for besides war axe on turn 2 is insane. One viable 2 drop in the entire deck? What's that about. Sure, you COULD use slam, or revenge, but 1 damage whirlwind for 2 on turn 2 is probably killing nothing, and this deck has no cycle except shield block, so getting is using slam REALLY something you can do on turn 2? I mean I guess the bashes are supposed to hold your health up and give you some removal, but in this meta, playing a reactive card on turn 3 might as well be pressing the concede button. Again, I'm not trolling, I really want to know. And I'm not talking to the mob, I'm talking to the maker and original poster of the deck and him alone.
I feel you BayushiKoso, facing too many aggro decks can be frustrating. And don't refer to people here as a mob, they are gentlemen.
The internet is a mob. Anyone can say anything to anyone without any real consequence. That generally doesn't make people act civilized. Also, you didn't answer any of my questions. I think they're all pretty reasonable and clearly stated.
Yo Bayushikoso, you want to mulligan hard for MVP fiery war axe, 3 drops (ravaging ghoul), bash, and 2 drops (axe and slam). try to save your slam tho to activate your executes or to cycle.
If you think you are facing aggro, save a revenge for when they go all in and take you below 12 health by turn 5-6. Some games you have to get down to 12 health to activate revenge, so don't be afraid of them smorcing you because you can justicar and tank up at some point after you clear board. A dream turn 6 would clear board throw up a invested tauren, hero power or a shield block to shield you and cycle. Sometimes i consider keeping a brawl in case I think i need to reset on turn 5.
Also, if you go second and have justicar, i recommend keeping her because you can coin out on 5 and if they don't have their dream plays you can start tanking up early. That has won me a few. But seriously, mulligan hard for MVP axe and maybe an infested tauren to slow them down a little before they can just smorc you.
i am 11-3 (79% winrate) with this deck! it really pushes me up the ladder!
I am first of trying to get the removals (bash etc.) then playing with the axes and infested tauren, when reacting to whatever happens with shield block+ shield slam or brawl. coming into mid/late game you want to try play out the deathrattle minion. My winning condition is often to play nzoth with both tauren + sylvanna + cairne.
I dont know the "best way" to play the deck but it works very good for me! I am rarely facing any aggro decks atm. (rank 14)
Win against 4/4 Cthun druide so i can this deck can handle it.
Awesome work V00gi!
Ooh, I remember the struggle against them with every control warrior deck, Puqueno. The only one that worked fine against them was Yogg warrior. The only deck Cthun druid is good against is control warrior right now it seems, so luckily we don't see Cthun druids often on the ladder.
