Hi guys,
I hit legend for the first time last night, and I just wanted to say thank you to all the great guides out there from the community on the legend grind.
I didn't get to take advantage of all the recommendations (i.e. deck and stat trackers) because I play solely on my cell phone...is there a separate achievement for that?
But the best advice by far that I got was to prepare yourself for a hell of a grind, don't get too discouraged when you make rank 1 and fall all the way back to rank 3 on a terrible losing streak (happened about 5 times to me this month).
Another thing that I had to do was against the recommendations on many lists. I predominately play arena, so I had to swear it off till I hit legend as I knew it was too easy of a distraction for me, but certainly see the benefit that some people would get from breaking up the monotony.
One last thing that many guides dissuade you from doing I deviated from and found it very helpful. In July I ran out of time, I made it to rank 2 on the last day and was pretty tilted that I didn't have one more day. I attributed this to the fact that I had not seriously played the first week of July as to let the former legend players move past the middle levels. In my opinion its a very unhealthy flawed mentality to have if you want to make legend.
The majority of your time is going to be spent between rank 1-5 and you'll be playing those players exclusively. Also, if you can't beat them now, you aren't going to beat them later...so get your practice in early and let it be motivation.
Also, don't change your decks when you lose a few matches.
Everyone is on this ONIK craze and so far none of the decks coming out on this site have been very good. I'm going to give this deck a test run and report back some stats. I'm curious to see how Crazed Alchemist plays.
GL, and let me know if you have any questions I'd be happy to help :)
if i might ask, why does everyone put in imp gang boss
i personally hate playing the card, as i can use much better cards in its place, and it never does anythign for me
really dude?
IGB is one of the best 3 drops in all of HS, let alone warlock.
Imp gang boss is really one of the reasons that this deck does so well. At its core zoo is a midrange deck that uses extremely efficient drops to maintain board control and reload with hero power.
The lengths that your opponent has to go through to ensure that you don't get lasting value out of him are pretty bonkers. The most efficient common lines of play will at absolute least leave you with a 1/1.
In my experience you'll really only reap the rewards if you stick with it for while. Minion placement needs to become absolutely second nature before you can expect to reliably win.
Congratulations!
Better ask a question I guess, how did Crazed Alchemist work out for you? What was it predominately used for?
Hes super versatile.
I think the most common use, and certainly the most backbreaking one is flipping a Doomsayer or any of the premium totems (Flametounge and Mana Tide). But another common use is flipping big taunts (Ancient of War, Bloodhoof Brave etc...).
If none of those present themselves as options or good lines of play he's also commonly used with Abusive Sgt (and to a lesser extent dire wolf alpha) to gain free health on a minion/reset them from damaged if you expect an execute or flip Councilman into a big 6/1.
He's one of the trickiest cards to play optimally, but even some of his sub optimal lines of play are at least fun!
Congrats man at rank 3 now with zoo in your opinion is gormok worth it
I really loved having him for reach, a Defender of Argus target or pinging big old taunts, but I wouldn't craft him just for zoo.
