Revisions:

2016-08-23, 5:59: Changed Deck Type from "Tempo" to "Combo", -1 Lightning Storm, +1 Maelstrom Portal (Maelstrom better for facing aggro which has been coming up a lot lately).

2016-08-21, 00:16: -1 Mana Tide Totem, +1 Ancestral Knowledge (Mana Tide is too slow vs aggro).

2016-08-20, 17:02: -2 Stormcrack, -1 Bloodmage Thalnos, -1 Barnes, +2 Ancestral Spirit, +1 Healing Wave, +1 Feral Spirit

Introduction:

Hi guys! I am a non-pro Hearthstone player from Canada (NA Server). My in game name is Malediction. Feel free to add me and watch. I'm currently sitting around rank 15 but my highest was 5. I was inspired to create this deck because of the new card Moat Lurker. This card works really well with Shaman because of Ancestral Spirit. You can combo it by using it on a deathrattle minion to make duplicates or on one of your big minions to keep them alive longer. For example, I drop Sylvanas and buff her with Ancestral Spirit. Next turn I can eat her with Moat Lurker, automatically stealing one of their minions and then I'll have 2 of her, make it 3 when Moat Lurker dies. Or you can use Ancestral Spirit on your Thing from Below to revive it when it dies. There are many opportunities to overwhelm your opponent with your undead minions :)

Moat Lurker

I've played a few games with it and been doing really well, so I thought I should share it with you guys :)

Edit: Out of 10 games, I won 6 of them. (One I lost only because a druid pulled a Y'Shaarj, Rage Unbound from his Barnes, and I shit you not, the next card it pulled was another Y'Shaarj! I have the screenshot to prove it! Look at this!!!!)

Mulligan:

Always keep a Tunnel TroggLightning Bolt, and Totem Golem. You may also want to keep a Lightning Storm and Feral Spirit if you're facing a hunter or warlock.

Strategy:

The game starts off very much like a regular shaman deck. Put out your Tunnel Trogg and slowly buff him with your Totem Golem and defensive Lightning Bolt. Bring out your Feral Spirit to keep everything alive. You want to try and clear the enemy board by making intelligent trades. Mid game is where you want to bring out your Flamewreathed Faceless and put a Ancestral Spirit on it. If it get's low on health then you can always eat it with Moat Lurker, but it's best to save Moat Lurker for your Sylvanas or to kill an enemy minion with too much threat. Late game is where things get really fun. Now you can combo your Moat Lurker onto your Sylvanas (who has Ancestral Spirit on it) to steal an enemy minion and summon Sylvanas back again. Just keep rinsing and repeating until the enemy eventually dies or afk.

Combos:

There are many combos you can make with this deck. You will find them out as you play along but here are a few just so you get the idea:

Turn 1: Tunnel Trogg, Turn 2: Totem Golem, Turn 3: Hero Power, Turn 4: Twilight Summoner, Turn 5: Coin > Moat Lurker

Sylvanas Windrunner > Ancestral Spirit > Moat Lurker

Thing from Below > Ancestral Spirit

Anyways, it's pretty obvious how it works. I think you guys get the idea :P

Card Choices:

Moat Lurker: The star of the show! This card is so amazing I can't even believe it. You can use it to destroy an enemy minion, especially one that's been buffed, and it will come back unbuffed. For instance, let's say a mage's Mana Wyrm gets out of hand. Simply let the Moat Lurker eat it and it will spit it back out as a 1/3. You can also use this card to pop one of your deathrattle minions. Sylvanas Windrunner really likes it when the Moat Lurker eats her ;)

Ancestral Spirit: You can buff a Flamewreathed Faceless for 2 lives, or one of your deathrattles like Sylvanas or Twilight Summoner. I once resummoned a Sylvanas 4 times because of this card combined with Moat Lurker. Amazing card for this deck!

Twilight Summoner: Works well with Moat Lurker and Barnes.  Only include one in the deck as two seems a bit overkill. If you don't have Cairne Bloodhoof then you can put an extra one of these guys.

Cairne Bloodhoof: Unfortunately, I don't have this card crafted yet, but if I did it would definitely be in this deck. Getting this pulled from barnes would be insane!!! Getting it eaten by the Moat Lurker would also be nice. If you don't have this card you can replace with a second Twilight Summoner.

Ragnaros the Firelord: This deck doesn't have enough momentum on its own to finish the game. That's why my good old buddy Ragnaros is invited to the party. DIE INSECT!

Sylvanas Windrunner: Works so well with this deck it's insane. She can be used in combination with the Moat Lurker to insta steal, and then be brought back to life. She can alse be summoned from Barnes on turn 4! GG!!!

Notable Mentions:

Bloodmage Thalnos: Spell damage is quite useful in this deck, so having an extra dmg for only 2 mana is perfect (plus you get an extra card when it dies!). Additionally, it also works with Barnes. You could easily replace this with a Loot Hoarder if you don't have the card.

N'Zoth the Corruptor: I'm not so sure about this card... It could work really well in our deck to put a quick end to the game. If I had this card though I might also include an Infested Tauren so that we have a taunt to help protect us a turn.

Wobbling Runts: I seriously hate this card. Just no. Please. Okay, seriously though, let's say we get to use our Moat Lurker on him, wow, now we have three 2/2's... Maybe if we had Bloodlust in our deck this could be viable. But this is not the deck I'm crafting.

Charged Hammer: I'm currently playing around with this card. I replaced a Hex with it and will see how it performs. Reason I added it is because we need more ways to clear minions and our totems aren't really that important late game.

Emperor Thaurissan: Could be used to summon Sylvanas and Moat Lurker in one turn to instantly gain board control. *Thank you Blauwtjess for pointing this out!*

Thunder Bluff Valiant: Works with Barnes and also gives us an edge against control decks.

Barnes: Why Barnes you ask? Well why not!? This deck has a few minions that can benefit from being pulled out.  It won't happen very often, but how amazing would it be dropping a Ragnaros the Firelord on turn 4? Pretty amazing I'm sure!          Barnes has been removed because the deck didn't really contain enough cards that would benefit from him and just wasn't worth while. Feel free to keep him in for the fun factor though!

Here's a screenshot where I actually pulled out a Rag and won me the game! But this was once out of 50 games...

Final Notes:

If this reaches more popularity than I'll make a more in depth guide, but for now just try the deck out for yourself and let me know what you think in the comments section below.

Happy Hearthing!
