A new deck featuring two new cards Fool's Bane and Violet Illusionist from the adventure: One Night in Karazhan.
Early Game:
Your early game with this deck is not that important, but here are some cards you want to try and obtain early: Acolyte of Pain, Elise Starseeker, Fiery War Axe, and Ravaging Ghoul. Getting a Execute or Shield Slam is not bad, but be careful on how you use them because they can be very important in the late game. Don't forget the Armor Up!
Late Game:
Here is when you would like to start using your Execute and Shield Slam to clear your opponents big minions. Use your Brawl carefully and try to save it if you think your opponents is using a N'Zoth deck. Ironforge Portal did not seem like a very good card and would rarely see play, but I can now argue that getting a Bloodhoof Brave, Kor'kron Elite, or Hunrgy Dragon from Ironforge Portal has helped win so many games and above that it helps you stall fatigue damage by giving you armor. Fool's Bane + Violet Illusionist is what really makes this deck so fun. You are able to clear your opponents whole board with these two cards and take no damage.
Other Card Considerations:
- Baron Geddon is a great card to counter aggro decks like Zoo for example but I decided that using a Gorehowl would be better overall.
- +1 Brawl can be very helpful if you are going against aggro decks, but other than that I don't see the need for another one.
- Prince Malchezaar was used at first, but was found to be too inconsistent.
Card Changes:
- -2 Blood To Ichor +2 Acolyte of Pain
- -1 Ironforge Portal +1 Fool's Bane
- -1 Prince Malchezaar +1 Yogg-Saron, Hope's End
- -2 Revenge +1 Upgrade! +1 Whirlwind
I love your feedback please let me know what you would do in the comments.
Not bad. Playing with this now.
Cut 1 x Yogg for 1 x Blood to Ichor. Helped with Aggro.
Thanks you for your comment! I think Blood to Ichor is a great card, but have you tried maybe a second Brawl? That might help a little more with the trouble your having.
Yea, I ended up
Crazy I know, but i played a few games and Gorehowl was a dead card every game, many times I couldn't afford to take the face damage and I hadn't got illusionist to combo with it. I seemed to always had fools bane equipped and didn't need the Gorehowl.
Currently experimenting with Tinkmaster Overspark as a psuedo-silence. Working well.
Good call Gorehowl is just to greedy for what this wants to use it for. you should really think about Yogg though. He's just to good in the game right now not to play in a deck with this many spells.
I do like Yogg in my other decks as I get him to 10+ spells. However in this deck when I needed to play him I've had <10 spells ready.
Hey I really like the deck. But I have a few questions about some of the cards you have in there.
Why Whirlwind over Revenge?
Why Upgrade! at all?
I took out Coldlight Oracle because even though it is good in fatigue style decks, I think it does more harm than good due to every deck in the meta being aggro and it just refuels their hands.
I took out Yogg-Saron, Hope's End because I hate FULL rng cards. But i can see why he's in here; clears/ buffs/ burn.
Why only 1x Brawl?
Thanks a ton! Other than these cards, I absolutely love this deck. Have a good one
Thanks for your feedback, it is very much appreciated. I decided to use Whirlwind over Revenge because I have rarely been below or at 12 health with this deck and still be in the game, so no reason to have a card that costs 1 less and does the same thing.
Upgrade! has been fantastic every time I've used it with Fool's Bane. If your opponent has a minion with 8 health you can safe 1 durability.
Yogg-Saron, Hope's End is a card I'm experimenting with right now, and it's probably not going to stay.
I can see why people use two Brawl as it helps with the aggro meta, but it's just something I personally don't find important.
Coldlight Oracle was recommended to me so I decided to give it a try, and I think Acolyte of Pain is much better.
Great deck! Even though I'm taking a different approach with my fatigue deck, I'm probably going to incorporate a few of your ideas since this seems to work. Thanks! :)
For your deck's style, the main thing I would change would be to add some card draw. Yes, this is a fatigue deck, but Prince Malchezaar allows you to draw more aggressively than your opponent and still be ahead in the fatigue game, which can be quite powerful. It would help you to have more answers more often and get to that Fool's Bane + Violet Illusionist combo faster. To that end, I'd cut 1 or 2 Ironforge Portal and/or 1 Blood To Ichor in favor of 2x Acolyte of Pain or possibly even 2x Coldlight Oracle and Brann Bronzebeard.
For as long as the meta remains aggressive, I'd also consider making room for either a second Brawl or Baron Geddon. Even with Fool's Bane serving as a clear, you might find a little extra non-combo-reliant AoE useful. And if you don't use both Violet Illusionists, it doubles as an incredible fatigue damage preventer. But if you're fighting a lot of control/combo decks, it's probably good to keep this aspect of the deck as it is.
Thanks again for submitting this! Hope it gets some attention.
You have hit it right on the nail! I have been testing all these things and was just about to update my list. Really good suggestion with Baron Geddon I love that card in control warrior decks. Thanks for the feedback.
