1.Introduction

Hello, I'm Macg , a competitive Hearthstone player from Spain, i build the first hunter midrange in Old Gods expansion( http://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/538676-top4legend-midrange-hunter-anti-meta ), and i'm here one more time to show you the new meta hunter after the nerfs.

2.How to play Best Midrange Hunter  2.0

With the nerfs, the meta change, and the decks need to change too, i bring you the new version of Midrange Hunter, quite similar than the latest, but with more lategame. The mechanics are similar, but now we have more late cards like Sylvanas Windrunner and Ragnaros the Firelord, adapted in this deck to deal with the new slow meta, and good drops for Barnes.

3.Deck

*( All beasts make combo with Kill Command and Houndmaster )

 

-Argent Squire:a great early card to deal versus aggro matchups, and make a good combo with Leokk and Dire Wolf Alpha to do more damage or to make better trades.

 

-Fiery Bat: the 'beast*' drop 1 on Hunter, good card to deal with early minions, and can be activated by Princess Huhuran.

 

-Dire Wolf Alpha: good drop for 2 manas, it should be used to buff damages on your other minions, and is a beast*.

 

-Freezing Trap: in this 'new' meta  this trap is powerfull because is slowly and we gain tempo and lock the turns of our enemy, can add +1 durability to Eaglehorn Bow.

 

-Kindly Grandmother: this Karazhan card make hunter more solid on early game,after this drop hunter only have Huge Toad and King's Elekk, now the enemy need to make damage in two times to kill this minion; in addition is a beast* and can be activated by Princess Huhuran.

 

-King's Elekk:i think in this deck, with all the high costs, is better than Huge Toad, high chance to draw a card, is a beast*.

 

-Quick Shot:is a good flexible spell, you can use it to make face damage, to make trades or to clean other minions,to use Deadly Shot or maybe to kill your Sylvanas Windrunner and steal one enemy minion.

 

-Animal Companion:Dr.3 on hunter, you put one of the 3 beast with really good stats to be a 3 mana cost, and all 3 are beats*.

 

-Deadly Shot:is a powerfull hard removal and only for 3 mana, you can use it kill any huge minion of the oponnent or just for tempo.

 

-Eaglehorn Bow: is our only weapon, use it to deal face damage or to trade, gain +1 durability if your oponnent active your Freezing Trap.

 

-Kill Command: strong spell to destroy your enemy, more damage on our deck, SMOrc or trade, it depends on the situation.

 

-Unleash the Hounds: good spell, can give you lethal, or use it to trade, hounds are beats*.

 

-Barnes:this card is so strong in our deck, we have so many strong minions to be casted by this card,like Sylvanas Windrunner,Ragnaros the Firelord,Savannah Highmane,Infested Wolf,... almost all your minions except Harrison Jones are good to be casted, in the worst case, you cast a beast*.

 

-Houndmaster: not bad 4 mana cost for tempo, and interact strongly with beasts*.

 

-Infested Wolf:a great card of Wotog expansion, his deathrattle give use two 1-1 beasts*that give us a little more presence on board.

 

-Harrison Jones:a great tech card to use in this meta, powerfull to have against warrior, shaman, palladin and rogue. And without his use, is a 5-4 for 5 mana, good presence too, and help us in the curve of the deck.

 

-Princess Huhuran:dr.5 Beast* on hunter. Active our deathrattle and without is a 6-5 for 5 mana, so so good , great potencial with Savannah Highmane and Sylvanas Windrunner.

 

-Savannah Highmane:one of the bests card in the game for me, just incredible. 6-5 beast*for 6 mana, deathrattle give us two more beasts* 2-2. Great presence on board and trades.

 

-Sylvanas Windrunner:another tech card in the deck. Really good vs control and midrange decks.Combo with Princess Huhuran and Barnes.

 

Ragnaros the Firelord:the last tech card to beat the meta. The classic drop to win versus control decks, just a finisher, or in other situation can clean a minon (feel the rng). This card is so good, because nobody spect that a hunter will have a Ragnaros.

 

-Call of the Wild: one of our finishers, summon the beasts* of Animal Companion on the board. With one o two more minions on board we can rekt the oponent. We take presence and pressure, the two qualitys of our deck. We only have one call, because of the nerf, not good to hve two 9 mana costs stuck in the hand.

4.Replacements

Harrison Jones:i think right now this card is usefull, so is difficult to replace, i think u can replace it for a Acidic Swamp Ooze, for Azure Drake or Tundra Rhino because of all the synergies with beasts*.

 

-Kindly Grandmother: if you don't have this, you can use Huge Toad.

 

-Princess Huhuran:you can replace it for Tundra Rhino.

 

-Sylvanas Windrunner:i think is really difficult to replace this card, maybe for Tundra Rhino or Azure Drake.

 

-Ragnaros the Firelord: i think teh place replacement for Swagnaros is N'Zoth, the Corruptor.

5.Mulligans

I think the mulligan for any archetype is the same, but depends in the deck you can mulligan some other cards.

 

-In general: go for Fiery Bat or Argent Squire, u can keep two 2 mana drops like Kindly Grandmother or King's Elekk, can keep Animal Companion, and if you have The Coin and good curve you can keep Infested Wolf.

 

-Against zoo: you can keep Unleash the Hounds.

 

-Against control palladin or control warrior: if you have a good curve, you can keep Harrison Jones.
