Dear friends,
I am Waspeon, an hearthstone addict who has reached legend multiple times with fun decks. This season I tried aggro/tempo pala which is really cheap, only contains one legend card Sir Finley Mrrgglton.
Winrate
65% winrate to legend with 64 wins and 34 loses. I remember losing at least 5 or 6 games due to dc/mistakes, so the winrate should be higher. This deck is pretty good in current meta.
I tested various versions including Tirion Fordring and N'Zoth, the Corruptor combo, but so far this more aggressive version works out the best.
Match Up:
Warrior: Best match up 85% win rate. Good versus all type of warrior. Against aggro or dragon, clear the minions fight for board. Against control or other decks just go face.
Mage: 60%. Super good versus freeze mage, I think 100% win rate :) Bad versus tempo mage, but still winnable if they draw badly.
Shaman: 60%. Not a bad match up. Bad versus aggro shaman but current meta all mid range. If they did not draw board clear should be an easy win. Fight for board control is important, try to clear the totems unless have lethal next few turn(still, beware of the taunts).
Druid: 53%. Clear board, go face after turn 5 or when you cannot clear the minions.
Hunter: 42%. not a good match up. Sometimes have to race face.
Warlock: very bad match up against zoo. Luckily very few people playing it.
Rogue: Again a bad match up. No answer to Edwin VanCleef.
Mulligan:
Early board control is crucial. Get Argent Squire, Redemption, Huge Toad, Rallying Blade,
Can consider keeping Loot Hoarder if you have card]Redemption[/card]
Can consider keeping Dread Corsair if you have a weapon
With coin can consider keeping Argent Horserider or even Truesilver Champion.
Dream Start:
Dream 1: turn 1 = Argent Squire, turn 2 = coin Rallying Blade, turn 3 =Dread Corsair and Argent Protector
Dream 2: turn 1 = Redemption, turn 2 = Loot Hoarder or Huge Toad, turn 3 weapon or flood the board.
Combos:
Divine minions + Rallying Blade
Redemption + Loot Hoarder or any divine minions
Charge + Blessing of Might to clear Thing from Below
Weapon + Dread Corsair + Argent Protector
Play style:
Similar to zoo, early board control, buff up minions and start going face around turn 5/6. Tempo is important, try to have minions on board in earlier turns.
Why no Consecration? It is an expensive card that usually can't clear the board as most minions has 3 health now. Used to be a must have but now it is quite useless without Equality.
Good luck have fun!!!
The idea of exploiting deathrattle/redemption and divine shield combos is exciting and the deck is somewhat fun to play.
I dont, however, understand how this can possibly have positive winrate against midrange shaman, as they always run both aoe, claws, things, troggs and sometimes wolves, it is safe to say that half of their cards in deck counter exactly what you are trying to do.
I can remember days this early season when one would only face shamans on the way to legend so I'm really confused with your results. Do you happen to have replays or just basic scenario in which shamans dont tear you to pieces?
If they have overload spells and I have Huge Toad, Redemption, weapons to clear and control the board, it is winnable. But I agree with you these two weeks shaman has played more aoe spells as there are even more shamans now. The win rate is much worse now.
Druids also have more defensive spells and I think the winrate has dropped below 50%.
I changed Defender of Argus for some other cards. For now Hammer of wrath seems to be better than Argus. Might test more in next season.
