Intro:
I'm Poach, formerly dpsimi, I've been playing aggro warrior since first getting Legend with it is Season 4. You can see my other lists. With the popularity of mid-range shaman, aggro warrior has been pushed out of Standard format.
Thoughts on Wild:
Wild format is not refined at all. People are playing their own control creations, which lack proper tools to deal with aggro. However, Wild has a wide range of cards to choose from which allow for more counter play.
Mulligan:
Most cards 3 Mana and below are possible keeps, however I tend to Mulligan hard for N'Zoth's First Mate and Fiery War Axe. If you don't have N'Zoth's first Mate nor Fiery War Axe. I'll keep Sir Finley Mrrgglton, and Bloodsail Raider to ensure I have plays in the early game.
Gameplan:
Use weapons to control the board early. Only make efficient trades; minions should usually go face. Often you should save combo pieces like Southsea Deckhand and Dread Corsair for Bloodsail Cultist and Ship’s Cannon. Usually around Turn 4/5 focus shifts from board Control to pure face damage.
Count your damage 2-3 turns in advance. Force your opponent to have answers.
Don’t be afraid to rely on top decks. Half of the deck is charge speed damage.
Cards to consider:
Blood To Ichor
Battle Rage
Loot Hoarder
Flame Juggler
Ravaging Ghoul
Coldlight Oracle
Arcanite Reaper
Captain Greenskin
Loatheb
Replacements for Legendaries:
Sir Finley Mrrgglton for Battle Rage
King Mukla for Ravaging Ghoul
Leeroy Jenkins for Arcanite Reaper
Sir Finley Mrrgglton Picks:
Tier 1: Life Tap
Tier 2: Steady Shot Fireblast
Tier 3: Shapeshift
Tier 4: Reinforce Totemic Call Lesser Heal Dagger Mastery
Edit [S32]:
- Captain Greenskin + King Mukla
- N'Zoth's First Mate + King's Defender
- 2x Loot Hoarder + Frothing Berserker
+ Mortal Strike
These changes ensure that we come out of the early game ahead with burst damage to finish our opponents, at the expense of Late Game Sustained Damage.

hi ignore my comment on your other pirate deck its this one im interested in so any updates? :)
-2 Fiery War Axe -1 Mortal Strike, +1 N'Zoth's First Mate +1 King's Defender +1 Southsea Captain. King Mukla isn't really optimal in this meta, but I like him anyway. You can get rid of him for another Southsea Captain or Fel Reaver
You can also run the dragon package Alexstrasza's Champion, Faerie Dragon, Cobalt Scalebane
thanks for reply one thing though I think the big 5 mans hydra are better than the fel reaver mentioned and mukkla 😁😁😊
Sure one sec

That matchup is traditionally poor. But Ship's Cannon and Death's Bite turns the matchup even. When I'm facing more Shamans I'll put in Loatheb
Thanks, from 14 to 1

Congrats !!
I'm so horrible against secret pally :(
Any suggestions for turning this from Wild to Standard? I've swapped the 2 Death's Bites for 2 Ravagiing Ghouls but having difficulty in finding a suitable swap for the 2 Ship's Cannons.
This deck is tuned for the Wild Meta. Others have played Pirates in Standard and I'd trust their judgement/data.
Ok thanx. I'll have to keep looking, I haven't found any others that high ranked yet for standard.
The deck has worked really well for me (51-35 over this season and last) and I'm running a +1 ravaging ghoul -1 king mukla.
Are you dropping southsea deckhand on turn 1? He works better as an activator for cultist. The tricky part of the deck (for me) has been when to use weapon on minions vs face, especially in the early game.
Edit: Knowing when to drop frothing (and being able to pull off the deathrattle with a it on board) has been important in a lot of my matchups as well
Pirates kinda work in Standard, but I wouldn't use this list. Others have refined their list for Standard, so I would use them. Pirate Warrior does exceptionally poor against Maly Druid, Mid-Shaman, C'Thun Warrior.
Side Note: You probably shouldn't to coin out a Southsea Deckhand. We want to control the board early and giving our opponent leverage in how things trade is not ideal. Also we want to proc Ship's Cannon and Bloodsail Cultist.

this deck does well in standard, but I enjoy playing the OP's wild version more.
Just created this account to thank you for this deck.
I was using Patron from rank 5 to 3 and then was stuck for a few days. Switched to your pirate deck and I finally made legend after a year of tryhard.
Now I can play non-SMOrc decks.
Congrats on the run.
