Hi guys. I'm kirrrbbby AKA keytwo AKA kmclaugh -- former Magic: the Gathering pro turned Hearthstone streamer/grinder.
I'm a big fan of Malylock. The archetype has always been a ton of fun. I played a standard version of the deck to rank 5 in standard (late) last season. It's actually quite solid in the slower midrangey metagame we have currently. You can see that write up here.
This is the wild version of the deck. I suspect it wouldn't fare so well at ranks 5-L, but it's definitely solid enough to grind at lower ranks. So far, playing at 10-15, I'm 13-1 with the deck.
In general, you're playing a value-game, and trying to get in some early chip damage. Your combo is to Emperor discount any two of these pieces: Darkbomb, Soulfire, Malygos. That gives you 17 damage worth of burst.
Mull strat: Keep 1, 2, and 3-drop minions, and the 4-drop dragons. Darkbomb and Coil are fine versus tempo mage and zoo, but they're not great to keep versus freeze mage or reno, so I always mull them. Be stingy with the coin. Use it if you need to, but it's usually fine to just lifetap on turn 2. Unless I have two 4-drops or without a compelling reason, I usually wouldn't coin on t3 either.
Here are my stats so far:
And some VODs from my stream.
If you like the deck please leave an upvote and/or comment. If you want to see it in action some more, check out my stream Thursday 9/30 10PM EDT twitch.TV/kirrrbbby. I stream every Tuesday and Thursday at that time, and have a viewer giveaway every Thursday. You can also follow me twitter.com/kirrrbbbyPhD, and/or visit my website kirrrbbby.com.
Thanks and have fun!
Secret paladin is definitely a hard matchup. Maybe try splitting shadowflame/hellfire like suggested by xMetaJR. The Sylvanas is in the deck to try to improve that matchup, as it can often prevent them from profitably playing Tirion/MC if you time it well. Maybe adding a silence to the deck could help also. Tirion is just really hard for us Warlocks to deal with.
What are your thoughts to substitute a Hellfire for Shadowflame?
I like Hellfire because it does chip damage, and sometimes ends games with Malygos, but Shadowflame is situationally better, and works really well if you get a PO or Abusive off of Peddler.
