Hi,
I'm a regular Legend player, hitting Legend every season. For the second season in a row, I'm creating a deck to counter the Shaman meta. The secret to this deck is Fool's Bane. :) It helps to clear the board or gain board control and your health is not that relevant since there's little burst from most classes except mage and hunter. Just don't swing into arcane giants 3 times. :)
This is the deck I've been using on the ladder the past few days climbing from rank 5 to 3. It has a solid win rate, especially against shamans with a 7:1 record.
I will write more about this deck if there's interest (up votes) but for now I'm still testing it and ranking up.
If you have questions/comments, write it below and I'll try to answer them.
With enough likes or +
- I'll create a more thorough discussion about playing the deck and against classes.

nope. doesn't have the same effect and by that time, your hand will be empty so you won't have any dragons to pull off dragonlord's effect.
best replacement for Deathwing? I know it's hard to replace but nevertheless
You can put in another Drakonid Crusher. Deathwing helps in the shaman match up to clear all their totems and after hex have been played. Deathwing is also an autowin against zoo as they have no removals and relies on board.
I know it's a REALLY bad replacement, but could I switch Deathwing for Nefarian? Except Alexstraza it's the only high-cost dragon I have

Yes. it had helped me multiple times in clearing shaman minions and annoying flamewaker + mirror images from tempo mage. It's like 2 having two extra fiery war axes where you can use on a single turn. It controls board where your minions can continue to push damage.
Sweet! What do you think of fool's bane?
Would it be a good idea to swap something for 1x Book Wyrm or Grommash? Maybe fit in Leeroy?
I don't think so. Originally this list had grommash in the past but realize there's very little activators (only blood to ichor) so he was removed from the list. I'm not a fan of book worm since he's a high drop which a low chance of activating. Most of the time, you'll be playing your dragons early and there's really just large dragons (drakonid and deathwing) to activate book worm. It is situational and it's impact is good but not as great in this deck. Book worm kills a 3 attack minion which is another situational scenario since you are fighting for board control and your opponent might not have minions on board. Also, if you want to kill a 3 attack minion, just use fool's bane at one mana less and you still have charges left to kill future minions. Leeroy can be play in the list but I'm not a fan since it's a final blow card most of the time and I don't like keeping dead cards in my hand.
Wanted to ask the same questions. I'm running 1x Book Wyrm and 1x Drakonid Crusher. The Wyrm is mostly dead in my hand and I tend to keep it as a dragon activator, but it actually had helped me clear Fandral Staghelm, Priest of the Feast, Crazed Worshipper, Thunderbluff Valiant and other minions like that. it's good, because it can hit around taunts. Currently experimenting, but you sure you wouldn't add it?
The effect is great, but think about when the situation actually happens. Against all of these decks, you are dropping minion(s) every turn and going face hard. Having a 6 drop is not ideal unless you are top decking it. Even in a top deck, you need to have a dragon in hand which more likely wouldn't happen because you have used your drake on turn 5. It comes down to having drakonoid or deathwing already in your hand. In that case, your hand is pretty slow or bad to win the majority of the time. In the situations above, I can only see priest of the feast as a valid target and you can go a little slower against priest than other classes. You prob won't see thunderbluff valiant until turn 7 when they can activate the inspire ability on the same turn. It's one turn later than your bookworm turn so it's more unlikely it'll happen. Also, book worm's attack is pretty weak for a 6 drop or late game minion. I rather have another drakonoid crusher.
I see book worm in a control class and not a tempo/aggro deck.
That's a lot of info :O Currently running your decklist, I'll see how it goes. Prior to that I'd used Lifecoach's Dragon Warr deck, but it had The Curator and seemed to slow now, so I started tweaking on my own. Wrong direction it seems, not enough smorc ;) Thx for the tips! BTW you're on twitter/doing streams?
