Back with an updated version of reno mage, with the c'thun theme.
Been hitting legend for the pass few seasons running this c'thun mage along with the popular shaman cancer deck.
This deck seems to fit into the meta play quite well, u have your reno healing for the hunters/ rogues/ tempo mage, while your c'thun and Antonidas against the draggy games against your control warriors.
The deck carries well going into the late game, and has a good curve that provide good tempo games as well. As such , mulligans are quite important against your opponents, mostly to consider for any of your 4 drops and below, or reno against aggro. This includes keeping c'thun chosen against priests, doomsayer against locks incase of zoo.
i been having quite a success and have made much tuning to the deck before deciding on this decklist for my runs.
Hope you guys enjoy it :).
Your deck is pretty solid, which new card have you included to the deck?
What do you think about the consistency of this deck? Furthermore, Doomcaller doesn't seem to do much, perhaps replace it for Emperor Thaurissan.
Doomcaller would fall as a tech card, and this would change depending on the meta. Currently, besides the mid-range shamans, control decks are quite common as well, and just a c'thun with antonidas just did not seems to have enough value for the game, which is why doomcaller comes into play. If the meta changes, emperor would be a good tech for more tempo play as well.
It would also depend on your decklist structure for playing emperor, which would prob suit a more faster pace using barnes/rag instead along with other tech such as loot hoarder/slyannas.
Doomcaller also allows for a early c'thun, take note to play around hex/tinkmaster, and still have your doomcaller for more value while u are taking the lead on the board and plays. Do take note of lethal if your c'thun survives the turn, and u have c'thun minions to buff it for lethal damage, tend to forget about that at times.
Doomcaller stats of 7/9 is also awesome in the current meta, with 8/8 being the common "big" minion, and 9 hp just falls short for common clearing mechanics, making your opponent having to invest more to clear it.
What about -1 Ethereal Conjurer and +1 Emperor Thaurissan?
This would make antonidas easier to combo and also allow a Bronn + Doomcaller in one turn for a double C'thun.
I'm gonna give it a spin.
I wanted to play a reno mage for a while but I'm not that great of a player. Can you please make a video and a guide? Thanks.
Love this deck. took it from 9 to 5 without much struggle at all. Great list. :-)
new favourite deck for this season, works perfectly against all the aggro/midrange decks out there and the ability for double cthun against the more control focused decks take care of them too. Absolutely love it!!!
