Hi guys, tom here. A while back I created a new Aggro Freeze Mage list featuring Medivh's valet and a guide to compliment it. It received a lot of positive feedback and I received many PMs both on reddit and hearthpwn asking me if I stream, or asking to watch me play games to better learn the deck. Unfortunately, I play on a mediocre laptop so streaming isn't an option, as such I decided to make a 4-part video series.
Anyway, I played my aggro freeze mage list last week and over two days I hit 10 legend with the deck, from about ~300 legend, with a 66.2% winrate. Furthermore, I also managed a 12-2 Heroic Tavern Brawl run with the same exact list. During my 10 legend climb specifically, I recorded some games and recorded my voice in real time so you can better understand some of my thoughts and decision making behind each turn.
Here's the videos, hope you enjoy! Feel free to ask questions :)

Been looking for this deck for a while, was one of my favorites. While I'm pretty sure there's no chance that a Standard version of this deck is possible (RIP Ice Lance), if there's anything like this that you're using at the moment please let me know.
How do you win against Reno Mage? If you pop his Ice Block, next turn he just renos back to full health and the deck doesn't have enough dmg to bring her down again. Feeling the same with priests, but that matchup is easier since he has no iceblock.
Huge replacement that makes this deck (In my opinion) is Evolved Kobold. I have swapped him for 1 Acolyte of Pain, because it makes finding lethal far more consistent
So much fun to see Jade druids loose, when you have only 1hp and you are taking down 30hp in 1 turn, lol.
Does this deck still work in the MSoG meta?
Really well. It's only problem is being shy just a few damage against reno mage and priest. Lock tends to be greedier and tap more, making your life way easier. This deck is fantastic, and tons of fun to play.
Ok thanks!
Fun deck, played a few games on casual to pass the time. 2/3 wins. Not much help for percentages rofl.
How about the new Freezing Potion? 0 mana freeze seems perfect for early game
Problem would be replacing a card, these all work so well together that replacing one with just a freeze that has no possibility of dmg seems wasteful.
Great deck! I'm using it at the upper ranks but it's fairing very well. I went from Rank 20 to 16 with only 2 losses. However I subbed 1 Mana Wyrm and 1 Acolyte of Pain for Emperor Thaurison and Alexstraza. Obvioulsy makes this much more like the classic Freeze Mage but both of those cards have saved my ass a few times.
Very nice, tried for quest and went 3-1 (all games against controlish decks, loss was 1 off lethal). Aggro Freeze didn't work too well for me in the past, but I think Valets improve it nicely with their dual body/burn utility.
Just a thank you for this fantastic deck!
Man are the wins sweet with it… Opponent spreading all over the board, being all loud and proud about it, while you stack Ice Lance, Frostbolt and Fireball and then build that moment for the sweetest lethal combo. With Sorcerer's Apprentice and Bloodmage Thalnos you can get high numbers, but there's also no obligation to combo for a win.
Games are fast, risky and extremely fun! (at least for me). Hopefully mulligan will give 1 & 2 mana and then you're all set.
Hi,
First things first, I wanna say thank you for this amazing deck. It's very budget yet effective.
I've tried this deck nearly 50 matches both in ladder and non-ladder. However, it wasn't aggro enough since ladder's meta right now is just pirate warrior & dragon control everywhere. Most of the times, the game will reach to 10 mana turn and this deck will lose cause we don't have enough mana to combo. I decided to take out 1 [card]Sorcerer's Apprentice[/card] for Emperor Thaurussian and this deck really shine since then.
Just my 2 cents :D
Neves played freeze... any mulligan tips pelase?
If you're first:
T1: Mana Wyrm T2: Sorcerer's Apprentice > Mirror Image
If you're second:
T1: Mana Wyrm > Coin > Mirror Image
I played it for the MSG quest for 2 packs and got 3 wins no problems. So probably yeah. You won't win them all, but the deck is still valid. I like that it does not run Flamewaker, which I lack and no arcane blast, which I lack as well.
HansCH
nice
Its not ideal without them but I would recommend Flamewaker to replace them. Its a very solid card in this deck and can deal just as much damage as valets while also soaking up burst from your opponent.
I dont have forgotten torch :/ . Is there any replacement or I just dont play this deck? Thank you
