This deck utilizes Drakonid Operative and Netherspite Historian to be really reactive. I feel like this can counter most archetypes right now, except the very fast ones. Really strong against other more usual dragon priests and jade, because it is faster than jade, while being able to keep up in the late game. Try to answer the board most time and get ahead with an strong entomb/shadow word/ragnaros. Try to find the right time to just go face and ignore weak minions.
Drakonid Operative: You can use this card to counter the deck of your opponent, but be careful to not give him an advantage. Steal powerful card like Reno/Antonidas/White eyes.
Netherspite Historian: Extremly strong to get fun stuff like a Chromaggus(for complete discover madness) or Chillmaw, if you need it. Or just enhance your curve.
Brann Bronzebeard: Double Discovery=Double Fun or burst with Blackwing Corruptor.
Card Choices:
Dragonfire Potion: Strong against Jade Decks and Shaman.
Greater Healing Potion: As a counter against Pirate Warrior.
Museum Curator is like an fun extra to get even more discover power, but you can switch out for a late game card like Medivh or another Drakonid Operator.
Mulligan:
Twilight Welp, Northshire Cleric, Netherspite Historian, Museum Curator, Brann/Blackwing Technician(strong coin combo)
It's fun to play, because you have a lot of options usually and uses some of the new cards. Try it out & tell me what you think or you have recommendations.
This is a really good deck but I am debating the value of Mind Control. Often times it is just a dead card and I am wondering if a Chillmaw or something else would go better in that spot.
Fun deck! Hovering around 14 - 15 in ranked but getting wiped by Pirate Warrior. Thanks the deck build!
I came across this deck because I was looking for a priest deck that wasn't reliant on Dragonfire Potion, which I haven't drawn yet. This deck actually works quite well. I went 6 & 0 with it in the first 6 games. Even defeated a couple of Jade druids in the late game. I hadn't noticed the inclusion of Big Game Hunter until it appeared in my hand. It's a good card to have, once again.
2 games in a row that i don't draw a dragon till turn 7, any suggestions to put another one?
Very good deck, so much control.
I made some changes because i dont have all blackrock wings but im 3-0 :)
Went 3-0 with this to finish my Kabal quest. Thanks!
any ideas for a good rag substitute?
Going to test out this deck and edit my results. Curious whether Mind Control is really necessary, might be a little too slow.
Edit:
Game 1 - won off stealing rag off a mage and had exact lethal, lol. Did have some trouble not having enough dragon enablers in the mid game.
Game 2 - Won off a weird tempo/freeze mage mix. Played on curve entire game, huge steals with the new 5/6 Dragon (Rag, Fireball)
Game 3 - destroyed by pirate warrior. Not enough comeback mechanism, but PW requires specific counter anyways.
Game 4 - destroyed a fandral jade druid. So far really fun, and a +1 for this deck! If you can get a brann to last on the board, it's GG.
While alright for countering the aggro warriors that are on ladder, Jade Druid absolutely annihilates Dragon Warrior and there isn't enough comeback mechanism to fight back unfortunately. I'm something like 2-6 against it and only won the games because I had an amazing starting hand and stole great cards. Seeing Jade Druid the most and this deck is seemingly not a good meta play b/c of that.
Yeah I've been having a bit more luck, you just have to smorc a bit more instead of playing value. The matchup is a lot better than my first impressions!
