Hey guys! FlashWad here. Today I decided to make a reno hunter deck to deal with all the pirate warriors. To my surprise it's had great success against them. It's easy to play and fun. Thought you guys might like it or have some suggestions in how to improve the deck. Enjoy!
Actually, this is not too bad. Might be one of the better Hunter decks right now. I know that doesn't say much, but it's playable on ladder and it's fun too. No one expects it. My changes:
-Huntress, - Crate, +Hyena, +Doomsayer.
Hey, I love the idea of the deck but idk, I get it that you have cloaked huntress and all...
But Smuggler's crate is such a shitty card... I can't really see much use for this.
I agree, when I update the deck list I think I'm going to take out cloaked huntress, and smuggler's crate for maybe a ram wrangler and quickshot/ scavenging hyena.
I like the idea behind this deck and the majority of the cards, but in my opinion it's either missing a few key cards or several cards should be replaced with something else. We have Rat Pack, Unleash the Hounds & Infested Wolf which have the potential to summon a bunch of 1 over 1 creatures, but only 1 card that can buff them (Animal Companion - and that's only a 1 in 3 chance.
I feel this deck would be better by either removing those 3 cards or swapping in a few cards that boost the cards already in play. Will probably give it a shot later this weekend. Any ideas or thoughts on this?
So I tried taking out King's Elekk because there are not enough high-cost cards to make it a likely win & Cult Master because I was never running out of card previously and put in Timber Wolf & Dire Wolf Alpha Didn't work too well over 5 games -- never drew them at the same time I had the other cards in my had. Going to attempt taking those out and the 3 listed above and see how it works.
Just a thing, if you never really got to draw those cards you can't really say that they didn't work on the deck.
It's one of the things with Reno decks tho, cards need to be redundant with each other since you will never guarantee any effect on your deck.
Really loving this deck man. Do you have any updates or anything?
I'm still tinkering with some minor changes but I like the decklist a lot as is right now. As for updates the win rate I'm having is quite high. I will give some official stats when I have some more games played. Stay tuned. I'm glad you like the deck man! Thank you very much.
What is a good replacement for Rat Pack? And any way of fitting in a N'Zoth, the Corruptor in here, or is it too bad/late?
I really like Rat Pack in the deck but I think Carrion Grub would be a pretty good replacement. I don't believe there is enough death rattle effects in the deck to warrant a N'Zoth, the Corruptor . But I will tinker with a deathrattle reno hunter deck, seems like it could be fun. Good idea!
I'm using a slighly modified version of your deck because I don't have all the cards. Even so I might have less deathrattles withoutthe rat pack, but I find that it's still pretty good in the lategame so long as your highmane and a couple other minions die before tha.
Nice! Seems like a good change for King's Elekk. Good call.
I like ur deck but, don't u think that gets beated by control decks? I have have a RenoHunter of my own but more control oriented that needs some work yet.
Every deck has it's bad match-ups. I think the best counter to a control deck is a mid range deck. My reno hunter deck definitely has mid range elements, but it is built more to try and survive against aggressive decks. I do agree with you traditional mid range decks will have a better chance against control decks than my reno hunter deck. But I don't believe my deck struggles too much against them. I will need to play a larger sample size of games against control decks to let you know for sure. It's just most of the games I play are against agro and it does well against them. Really good point though. It just depends on the meta.
For Don Han'Cho I suggest another large minion, perhaps a Ragnaros the Firelord. for Knuckles I think a Stranglethorn Tiger would be an excellent replacement.
Thanks man! Glad you like it. Let me know how it works out. It was the first real deck I created so I'm excited to see how other player do with it.
For Knuckles I would suggest Harrison Jones.
That's also a really good suggestion. The more anti-weapon tech the better.
I think switching out a hidden cache or smugglers create for quickshot is actually a good change that makes the deck better. I was thinking about that also.
