This is a wonderfully fun deck, it is the revitalization of secret mage that breaks away from the former's leanings towards tempo and instead follows after freeze mage in its slow build; but it can follow after either depending on opening hand.

For a deck that's not even on most tier lists I have found this form of secret mage to manage around a 60% win rate against the current most popular archetypes and plays very well against aggro forms of warrior. Keep in mind this is no means professional or even legend but if your only goal is rank 10 or so this deck will get you there.

Though, many, or rather the few who've had a go at a new secret mage will probably notice the cards that aren't here mainly my version has no flamewakers, no kirin tor mages, and no aoe of any kind; But believe me when I say this deck has gone through revision after revision to the point where there have been more versions than days since gadetzan has been released. This for provides the most stability while still answering a lot issues

most minions are sizable enough to get past jade druid's walls and with ice block you almost always have time to develop them. reno lock's heals pose the biggest problem but honestly its just a race to see which can get its pieces quicker.

Biggest note is that I'm not sure about whether this should run flamestrike rather than fireland's portal. Flamestrike gives better matchup against renolock and murlock palidin but since firelands portal is better in almost every other matchup its what I'm putting in this list. With enough praying to yogg and the rng gods, cabalist's tome will give you that burn or aoe that gets you over the finish line

As for how to play it, pray for an ice block in your opening hand, if you've got that then the kabal lackey the next piece you want. the goal is to use medivh's valet and arcane blast to clear early board targets (frost bolt if absolutely necessary) while getting your crystal runners, avian watchers and ethereal arcanists down as quickly as possible. this minions should almost always go face; however trade with your lackeys, valets, and mana worms. From there Archmage Antonidas or any of your big burn should be enough for lethal by the late game.

Style wise this deck wants to play slow in the early game save any minions until you can get a guaranteed trigger of their abilities. Try not to use the lackey except to cast ice block or to get a fireball from antonidas. mid game start ramping the pressure in hope for a win around turn 15.

Knowledge of the meta is incredibly helpful in knowing when to play your secrets but honestly prioritizing ice block over all others is generally the plan. As hard as ice block is to trigger or remove it guarantees your valet's burn and your arcanist's and watcher's buffs. Just play this like the hybrid child of secret hunter tempo mage, with generally a slower start than both, but again if you get mana worm and frost bolt it can kick off particularly quickly.
