This deck is pretty good, can be fast and aggressive if the opponent lets you and it has enough staying power to compete with Reno decks.
Got my ass handed to me by a Miracle Rogue and a Jade shaman though. But it's a fun deck.
edit: In fact I learned how to do deal with said classes and it's working great for me now. I really love decks that have a good chance against everything and I think this deck has it.
Hey guys!
I have show-cased this deck. I have played kinda interesting game versus a aggro shaman which ended into topdecking and interesting trades lolz.
Hope you enjoy it :)
You sound a bit like you don't want to wake your parents upstairs :)
It's a decent win, but this deck can be pretty good against aggro like you did when you have the aggresive cards followed up with Taunts. I think you should play a bit more and show the games against Reno decks, Miracle rogues and Jade decks.
Haha when I played the video and listened to my self .. I think it might be a fair point! :D
Yeah it is good, but making a longer video than like 15-20mins seems not so effective for me, maybe in the future! But I could definitely show more matchups.
Anyway thank you for your respond! Glad to hear feedback :)
i've been running a similiar setup which saw rank 5 earlier in the season. struggling a bit now. originally its as above with:
-book wrym
-slam
-execute
-raging ghoul
+2x fairy dragon
+deathwing
+arcane reaper
now i'm trying the OP's list with a little more success. with one change. -book wrym +deathwing. Helps the late game against reno decks and if jade is allowed to spiral out of control and book wyrm is way too slow by turn 6, and does the same thing as blackwing just mana inefficient. My only concern is 7 dragons in a dragon deck is too light. 8-9 is generally considered ideal.
I've played something like you mention earlier too. Faerie dragon seems handy because it's a dragon but it's just weak, weak early and horrible if you draw it late. Slam and Execute are doing surprisingly well, it's a huge tempo swing together because noone expects you to do play that and slams card draw helps a lot. Raging ghoul won me a game here and then, mostly by powering up Frothing Berserker.
Book Wyrm is indeed a bit awkward, with it's low damage on turn 6. But I found myself playing it a lot anyway, often killing something and keeping board. The two Azure's and Curator will keep the cards coming in, so board can be maintained very long.
So I'm just sticking to this list.
Did those changes too , works pretty good against jade and reno now , increased my winrate by like 15% ... thats rly sick
So .. Thx :)
This deck is very well made, with a nice balance of aggression and scaling.
I would call this a very tempo oriented deck with a lot of your victory rate going to good mulligans and proper choice making.
(When to trade and when to smorc.) I
I've had amazing win rates with this deck, having played 11 games with it so far, here is my winrate.
Dragon Priest 4-0
Pirate Warrior 2-1
Jade Shaman 1-0
Control Warrior 1-0
Renolock 1-0
Jade Druid 0-1
Good luck to you all, have fun!
so so :D
i mean depends of ur lucky opponent class

Very nice deck!
Played about 200 games with different modifications of dragon warrior this season and managed rank 5. Started with faerie dragons instead of book wyrm and execute. Also tried Deathwing, Grommash and arcanite reaper variants but now this looks most balanced version for me...Btw ravaging ghoul + frothing berseker worked very well on heavy board a few times :)
Thanks for the deck list. Went from rank 12 to 6 and I'm hoping to push to 5 or better tonight. I was having okay results at first and then I started streaking once I made 2 changes to my playstyle:
I hope that might help someone else that isn't getting the results they were looking for with this deck
Removed 2x Blackwing Corruptor and added 2x Netherspite Historian.
Helps in getting a dragon I might need for the deck I'm playing against.
why though? this is not a control warrior list, this is secretly kind of a midrange smorc deck.
and i really wouldnt take out corruptor, its a really good card
I see the historian as midrange. It has saved me more than once with this deck.
Also this deck is lite on dragons for being a dragon deck. So if my hand had only one dragon plus the historian, like for example the Twilight Guardian, I can use the historian to get another dragon and then the Guardian will activate.
It works fine, I guess because it has more options, like early pirates or a Frothing Berserker and Monkey Taunt combo.
not really since they are the key dragons to the deck
Wow this deck is really awesome, thank you!
I was stuck at rank 7 trying multiple variations of aggro & midrange Shaman and Warrior. Then I tried this and blasted to rank 5 with 13 wins and 4 losses (76% win rate). Worst match up was Priest, though I won 3 times and lost twice, so that's a damn good worst match-up! Someone else made a comment about vs. Shamans here... so far I'm 2-1 vs. Shaman.
It starts off with the aggression of aggro pirate warrior, has solid mid-game, great late-game threats, and good draw. You can either race to the face or slow down and control, whichever is clever for the situation.
Opponents also sometimes assume this is an aggro deck (sometimes looks identical to pirate warrior for the first 3 or so turns) and waste removal on low priority targets.
The only problem I can find with Grommash is that there is no good way to activate him. Without an activator, he's basically as 4/9 with charge that can't hit face for the first turn. And that isn't too good.
i think this is the best dragon warrior list for this meta.
from rank 10 to 5, just 1 lose against a very lucky renolock.
