Cheaper Replacements/Upgrades Coming Soon!
Bare Necessities:
A heavy card draw package (3-4) Cards.
Additional damage cards to get your opponent to 22 life, (4-8) Cards [Includes aggressive minions]
Stalling Tools (2-4) Cards.
Gameplan:
Mulligan for 1/2 drops and DON'T keep combo pieces with the exception of Frostbolt.
Your primary goal is to do as much damage as you can before unleashing the combo. If you have a strong start and feel like they're in reach, feel free to use individual combo pieces to stall, trade, or go face.
At first, try to masquerade as a pure aggro deck. Lucky for you, people will mulligan against you thinking you are a Reno mage (Though this has a lower chance of happening at lower ranks due to the popularity of aggro decks) and usually will panic after seeing a T1 Mana Wyrm or T2 Insert Aggro Card Here helping further the illusion.
Cards like:
Can throw your opponent off track and usually can hide the fact that you have a combo up your sleeve.
In other cases, just deal chip damage and try to get them as low as possible. [At LEAST 22 Health for the full combo]
Evolved Kobold + 2x Frostbolt + 2x Icelance (22 dmg.)
I'm sorry you feel that way. This is a budget deck so it isn't the most optimal deck out there. This deck also demands a little bit of skill in terms of thinking ahead like traditional freeze mage so maybe a few matches with other combo decks may help.
This deck is very effective by budget standards. I've played about 7 or 8 games and have only lost to pirate warrior - literally everyone expects the deck to be aggro until you toss out that sweet Evolved Kobold + Frost Bolt + Ice Lance x2 combo. I did sub in my Bloodmage Thalnos for Cult Sorcerer, though the deck I've used is otherwise identical to the one posted here.
It is not always necessary to pull off the full combo. I your start is aggressive enough, feel free to use individual pieces on face or for trading if you think you can over-take them. But big thanks anyways, I'm glad that you enjoy the deck!
Hi, I like this deck on paper but how far in ranked can you really get with it?
Last season I was able to get to Rank 11 albeit with:
-2 Gnomish Inventor
+1 Argent Horserider
+1 Abusive Sergeant
I made this change at Rank 16 since I felt like the deck was slightly too slow.
