I enjoy playing C'Thun warrior, so as a deckbuilding challenge I decided to try to combine it with the Warrior Quest. So far it feels quite nice.
One of the new things I like the most is the Stonehill Defender, because there are 3 different C'Thun taunts you can discover, so they come up reasonably often. You can also use him to spend your whole mana, since you play him for 3 and can often discover a 5+ taunt, gaining great value and flexibility out of the card. For this reason, I'm considering also adding I Know a Guy somehow.
As for C'Thun, he's not your sole win condition because of the Quest, so I took out the Doomcallers. This means both that you're not as afraid to play C'Thun against polymorphs (which was a problem last season with so many Shamans running Hex), and you can also feel free to play C'Thun quite early without necessarily trying to squeeze full value out of him by charging him up more. You can actually just play him as a smaller turn-around sort of turn, and then use your Rag power to finish them if needed.
I just crossed someone playing a different version at rank9, he had the guys that give cthun taunt, I was using the more clasic taunt warr so it was a reaaaally close match only won cuz rng hero power hit him like 3 times in the face.
Edit: I'm running this version of the deck with really good success agains mage, priest and smorcs.
Just look how sad this helpless smorc warrior looks:
Overall, how did this deck do on ladder?
I just went toe to toe with a taunt warrior he managed to pull my C'Thun with a Dirty Rat and I lost him in a Brawl, the warrior also managed to achieve his quest for Sulfuras first and I still managed ot catch up on my quest and run him out with the minion volume and some well placed brawls of my own. Great Deck! tons of fun, Lord C'Thun loves me
this is so great i love this combo! c'thun is my favorite for like 29 reasons, and adding the quest is a blast ( for only two mana amiright?!)
Wow [card]Stonehill Defender[/card] is pretty strong! I am running with:
-2 [card]Direhorn Hatchling[/card]
+1 Soggoth the Slitherer
+1Twilight Geomancer
ooo good idea im gonna try this
In my version i went back and forth with Gastropod or Geomancer and after 30+ games i like Geomancer more because of the 4 health. Everything else about it is just icing but that 4 health i find is a bit hard for the aggro to push through immediately without serious resource expenditure.
Tell us what rank you can get with this; I had the same idea for a deck but am short on dust.
Hey! I like it very much! Funny also strong.
Thanks!
