This card is interesting for a couple of reasons. First, it can filter your deck. Second, 1 minion combos will be more reliable to achieve. Third, it is not dependent on opponent's hand so this can be better against an aggro deck with fewer cards in hand.
Aggro decks usually run more 2 drops instead of one, I don't think this is great.
I love this card because it's a not broken Divine Favor.
But Divine Favor exists unfortunately, so... Fuck. Blizz nerf plz.
While Divine Favor has a chance to payoff big in terms of draw, there's also the risk of drawing it early on which will clog your hand and slow your aggression. Not to mention your opponent must keep a larger hand than yours for it to have any value. Small-Time Recruits will always draw you three cards from your deck, unless you are near fatigue and are running out of minions to play. If you've played a game out that long and haven't won though, not even Divine Favor would help. The downside to this card is that you won't be drawing spells (buffs like BoK), weapons, or anything beefy (like your Tirion, which let's face it, is in every deck whether it's aggro or control). Whatever 1 drops you put in your deck, they had all better be the best quality.
Blizz are you trying to replace Divine Favor in aggro paladin? I'm ok with this.
This feels like a good push for Aggro Paladin and can sometimes be better than Divine Favor in some match ups, like against another Aggro deck. Or even play 2x this along with 2x Divine Favor.
I like the thought of using this with Twilight Drake,Faerie Dragon, and some fun 1 cost minions.
I understand the synergy between Twilight Drake and card draw, but why Faerie Dragon?
From what we've seen so far, I predict that paladin dragon decks are the direction I see benefiting most from this card...the ability to snag 3 1 drops can prevent one from getting messed up on the curve. IMOSelfless Hero is the best 1 drop that Paladin can run, and playing it with a faerie dragon up allows you to shield the faerie dragon, and a shielded faerie dragon can't get pinged and provides a huge tempo swing in your favor...especially if you can put two other 2-1 minions on the board on turn 4. Faerie dragon therefore becomes a STAPLE in paladin dragon decks, and although it doesn't combo too well directly withSmall-Time Recruits, i predict that you'll often see these cards played together.
TL:DR: a lot of dragon cards are rotating out soon, but not a lot of paladins strongest dragon cards are rotating out...dragons will see lots of play in priests and paladins, and I think dragon paladin could replace the void left by dragon warrior. Faerie dragon gets seen often early in a very effective combination with small-time recruits.
Still not as crazy as Divine Favor.
Steward of Darkshire just got more interesting.
