This card is decent I guess. In decks with minion spam like Stand Against Darkness, Lost in the Jungle and paladin with the upgraded hero power this card can easily spiral things out of control. Due to how this card only activates when it attacks, it makes it a bit better as it lets you play it, then wait until you get a board worth buffing and seeing how there is not a ton of weapon removal in the meta as of now, I feel like this card can sneak into some decks as a slow finisher of sorts.
A ''maybe'' arena Card. In constructed paladin usualy has 5/3 weapons to push leathal. Is this card better? I dont know.
So Silver Sword is more powerful than Truesilver Champion. Sometimes I think Blizz does not even check their own Warcraft lore. They should at least make it something Dark Iron or Adamantite.
What an amazing aggro/midrange card ruined by it's mana cost, holy crap 8 mana? this should be 5 - 6 at least 8 is totally over kill especially with how much AoE is high costing. if you jumble the stats around you could make this so much better, 8 mana 5/2 give your minions +2+2 is even better than this would end up as a glorified reaper with the quarter master effect and it'd totally see SOME use but my lord 8 mana? Gorehowl doesn't even see play and it's a crazy good weapon but it costs to much for what it does and i believe this will be thrown in the same bin as gorehowl, meta slows down enough to use gorehowl then it's enough to use this card.
nothing is wrong with aggro this is about the card not being good for aggro.if you don't like aggro decks... don't play any card games because there are worse ones in MTG that can burst you down on turn one as the game instantly ends before it even starts.

probem with this is these cards you suggest are aggro/midrange cards mainly aggro this weapon is a aggro weapon with a control deck mana cost. this is to much for a deck with small cards like lost in the jungle and drygulch or Call to arms, those decks usually win before turn 8 or are Already winning hardcore with the handbuffing effects this would just be a win more card and be overkill but effectively do nothing
I've played enough video games to know Silver Sword is a low end gear
Clearly you've never played the old Fire Emblem games
On the plus side, this works well with dudes or murlocs...or anything for that matter. On the downside by the time you play this you'll probably already have lethal. That being said, I was looking for yet another way to buff my dude army in the late game. If there's no other options that pop up for Paladin in this expansion, I'll give this a shot.
At 8 mana it might end up even more dead in hand than Bonemare, if your board is empty...

It's better than a Bronze Sword, but not quite as good as a Gold Sword.
Kinda decent. Its like a expensive and worse Tarim, lets you make favorable trades with small minions, but doesnt help you to remove enemy threats. Good for budget decks as a one off.
It's actually only silver-plated, in order to keep the dust costs down.
