Their are two reasons for making this deck. ever since I saw Deathwing, Dragonlord I have been in awe of the stats (12/12 for 10 including death rattle is quite good,) and also I have been playing dragon priest since the release of the grand tournament and couldn't be happier with the newest addition to priest. i.e. Forbidden Shaping which creates a minion that can either fits right into tempo or another late game minion. I understand that lot of people don't have faith in Dragonlord but I think he has a great place in the meta here is why, he is 12/12 body like I said. I understand that Dragonlord only has value if you do have board control a lot of the time as dragon priest have so many minions that you have board control most of the time.
On another note lets gets down to the deck specifics. (If this deck gets to 25 votes ill go into detail on every card. Right now I am just going to discuss the not so common choices.)
Forbidden Shaping Is a card that can fit perfectly into curve and can also create an incredible late game minion for 8.
Deathwing, Dragonlord Like I said above he is a 12/12 body for 10 and has an amazing death rattle.
Entomb The reason I chose 2 of this card is due to the big bodies that are being released in the new expansion. We are seeing C'thun, N'zoth and the current ones we have now, Tirion, Archmage, Ysera and the list goes on.
Twilight Guardian and Wyrmest Agent are great early game minions that help remove board in early game if you are behind.
Azure Drake is a great draw mechanic and spell damage for Holy Nova.
Cabal Shadow Priest is in here due to the fact we can now steal knife juggler which will be huge benefit against secret paladin and any aggro deck.
Chillmaw Is an amazing board clear and creates havoc due to killing off your opponents minions and then the ones that didn't have to help clear get three damage dealt to them.
\Ysera Is a great late game drawing mechanic that can also be devastating with th Dragonlord Deathrattle affect.
Confessor Paletress Is an ok late game card that can really change the game and can have some truly amazing combos.
Northshire Cleric and Power Word: Shield are great drawing mechanics for the late and early game.
Key Cards: Entomb and Shadow Word: Death are your best removals for the big minions. So don't waste them on smaller minions that you can trade reasonably because if you do you will get beaten by C'Thun, N'Zoth, and basically any big minion.
Deathwing: I realize there are a few cards in this deck that won't have their battlecries activated, but those cards are incredibly important for the early game/ramp. It is going to feel so good when you land Chillmaw and Ysera after they clear Deathwing, Dragonlord. Auto concede all day everyday.
Edit: I took out Midnight Drake and Twilight Drake due to bad synergy with death wing and added one excavated evil and holy nova and took out one cabal. Thanks!
I think Dragonlord Priest will become a main deck in the meta despite loss in standard. i. e. Dark Cultist, Velen, and Lightbomb.
Thanks for looking at the deck. Keep Pwning!
Why is Elise Starseeker in this deck? Can anyone explain please
Looks good on paper. Must say though, I'm not having any luck with it at all. Currently 3-10 with this deck. Consistently losing on turn 7 or 8 to druids dropping C-Thun 3 turns before 10. Even the paladin dragon deck is 2-0 vs me. It just plays faster and hits harder.
It looks really good, and I had some high hopes for this deck, but I just don't think it's viable on the ladder right now.
Very well thought, but I would rather run 1 more museum curator instead of excavated evil as you already have holy nova, will definetely use this deck when WOTG comes out
Ignore what I just said, I forgot that most deathrattle cards are from naxx. Lol
Decent deck but you've only got 2 3mana cards! Where is Blackwing Technician ? I mean you could use forbidden shaping but I feel this new meta is gonna be all about value from stats and you also can't be praying ur Museum curator draws you a Dark Cultist....And also since ur low on 4 drops you could maybe add a few midnight drake's but in that case just use twilight drake instead.
"Cabal Shadow Priest is in here due to the fact we can now steal knife juggler which will be huge benefit against secret paladin"
Really? Secret pally? In standard?
I like it I just think you are hurting yourself with the lack of blackwing technicians. This is the Dragonlord deck I came up with :)

Is Brann/elise really worth putting in? Maybe Blackwing Technician instead? That PW tentacles should also be a holy nova #2 imo.
I think DeathwingCard must be in this deck, w/o battlecry we'll have 12/12 x2 or will clear the board on fatigue mb.
Looks pretty good, I dislike Power Word: Tentacles though. I'd replace it for a Holy Nova or Excavated Evil
This. Also, I'd personally drop the cabal shadow priests, probs for faerie dragons.
Wow the negative synergy of deathwing, dragon lord with twilight drake and midnight drake is definitely something you didn't think through.
depends, this deck is often sitting on a lot of cards thanks northires and azure drake spam. a couple of minions for free _even if you don't get battlecries) is just fine if you still have good ways to spend your mana
This deck is obscenely greedy. 2x entomb, along with Deathwing, Ysera, Confessor, Forbidden Shaping, AND Elise? You can't be serious. Dragon Priest might become a decent deck in Standard, but it won't look like this.
I totally agree. Thanks for the advice. I took out confessor to swing more of the dragon synergy and added midnight drake.
I would love to cut 1 card somewhere to put in the regular Deathwing. Imagine having 2 deadly Deathwings on board (plus Ysera or a Chillmaw) for the price of 1!
Btw if you play Control Warrior, I would appreciate it if you could look over my decklist and offer some advice: http://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/479769-cthun-control-warrior-standard
Midnight Drake is also an aggressive 4-drop dragon option.
Pulling out 4/1 Twilight Drakes 2/6 Twilight Guardians and Azure Drakes with no battlecry effect with Deathwing, Dragonlord is sooo good!
I agree with this statement.
You would want Deathwing, Dragonlord to pull dragons on the board that either have a negative battlecry, (such as the original deathwing forcing you to discard your hand) or dragons that dont have a positive battlecries.
As is now, Dragonlord's death will pull much weaker versions of each dragon onto the board because they will skip their battlecry
