Welcome to my Franky Priest, the Frankenstyle deck!
Intro
Hi everyone! I always loved to play priest and had great fun with the "dragon priest", with the "Zetalot priest" and all other kind. But to be honest, I never had such a blast playing priest than with this deck! It crushes the meta, a lot more stable than every other C'Thun's decks and punishes hard the SmorC Shaman.
If you look at C'Thun's decks, the moment you play C'Thun is a blast, often a win. But to get there you have to play with average minions to buff your C'Thun. This deck allow you to play with very powerfull minions from the begining and have the same crazy finish with N'Zoth, the Corruptor. I actually never lost after playing it.
Strategy
The strategy is quite straightforward, it's all about controlling the board, making values plays, playing your Deathrattle cards and then finishing off with N'Zoth, the Corruptor. For those that are familiar to priest, you will find all the actual ways of playing it, with the draws and the common priest mechanics. I will not go through it now but I can of course write an in-depth guide if requested.
Card Choices & Key Plays
In this section, I will explain why I picked some cards over others and give tips/answers on how to use those cards. Do not hesitate to ask anything in the comment section if you would like to know something else or more details on my choices.
Why 2 Shadow Word: Death and 2 Entomb ?
Two words, Face Shaman. Shadow Word: Death is the best way to deal with Flamewreathed Faceless so if you are facing Shaman, I would go for a hard mulligan for Shadow Word: Death. And Entomb will give you lots of power against C'Thun control decks.
Why Embrace the Shadow?
I find this card very usefull and reliable in many situation. VS Aggro you always wait for your combo Auchenai Soulpriest and Circle of Healing to clean the board. This is one more way to combo the Circle of Healing. But I also often play it in combo with Flash Heal to remove big minions. 2 Mana for Embrace the Shadow, 1 mana for Flash Heal and 2 mana hero power allows you to hit a target spending 5 mana for 7 dmg.
Why 2 Excavated Evil and no Holy Nova?
Well I think that WOG and C'Thun decks makes you face more 2 drops with 3 health. And as priest lost Lightbomb, I've the feeling that you need good AoE and 2 dmg it's not enough. It's often either you clean the board or you loose. So I find Excavated Evil more reliable.
How to use Wild Pyromancer?
This card is really usefull in 2 ways. If you are facing an aggro deck, I would use the combo Wild Pyromancer + Power Word: Shield to clean the early minions' board and keep it under control. If you are facing mid/control deck the best use of it would be Wild Pyromancer + Northshire Cleric and you play any spell to trigger the Wild Pyromancer, then Circle of Healing for drawing a lot of cards and take big asset on the game.
Why not adding more Deathrattle minions?
Simply because you dont need it. Trust me, the turn your will play N'Zoth, the Corruptor, the game will be done. I believe that the deck is a lot more stable like that.
Cards replacement
Here I will talk more about the possibility of changing/Tricking the deck and replace some cards to adapt it to the meta.
- If you think you don't need a taunt : 1 Wild Pyromancer instead of 1 Abomination.
- If the meta is full of weapon's class : 1 Harrison Jones instead of 1 Entomb.
- If you feel a bit greedy : 1 Herald Volazj for 1 Entomb.
Deathrattle cards
If you miss some of the deathrattle cards in the deck, here is a list of all deathrattle cards playable in standard. It will also give you an hint on what you can get from Museum Curator. Again I can write a in-depth guide about statistics if requested.

30th of April: I took one Wild Pyromancer out and put an Abomination, I feel like it's important to have a taunt and this card provide one more AoE against aggro. When you play N'Zoth, the Corruptor it feels good to have a taunt to protect your other minions.
30th of April: I took the Twilight Summoner out. I think it's a good card but a bit slow, didn't have enough impact the turn you play it. I added one more Entomb because I needed more hard removal against C'Thun Warrior, C'Thun Druid and C'Thun Priest.
Youtube Video
Thanks to Shissan for a cool video with this deck!
What do you want?
You want your Deathrattle minions to die! So you can bring them back to life! Play with no fear of death! It's ALIVE! IT'S ALIVE!
Hope you will enjoy playing it and sorry for my non-first-language-english.
Have Fun!
However, against zoo, holy nova is pretty average.
Fun deck! What about Infested Tauren instead of Abomination? It won't kill/damage for 2 your minions. If it gets killed with another board clear all your N'Zoth value would be greatly diminished or destroyed. Just a thought. I've been using it, and although weak; it's a taunt/sticky and won't blow up your board potentially.
I think the reason OP did not include Infested Tauren is because it by itself is a very bad card. You simply lose temple by dropping it on board.
Abomination is a must in my opinion given current meta is full of zoo and face shaman
Exactly, I think Infested Tauren doesn't impact the board enough and the deck has already enough 4 drops.
True. I'll give abomination a try, He's one of the dozen rare golden cards I have.
If all you're facing is aggro, I think Abomination could be quite handy. But it could really lose you the game in slower match ups.
For example, I just played one of the most interesting games I've ever played. It was against an N'Zoth pally. Pulled a Ragnaros, Lightlord off a Shifting Shade. Killed his own Light Lord with [card]Shadow Word: Death[/card]. Killed his Sylvanas Windrunner with the other, and entombed his Tirion Fordring. Took him into fatigue. He used both Forbidden Healings to heal for 20. Then played his N'Zoth, the Corruptor. In answer, I played my last Auchenai Soulpriest and two Circle of Healings I'd held on to for just this occasion and wiped his board except for the second half of a Cairne and a Twilight Summonor, then played my own N'Zoth next turn. I knew he had Equality, but had used both Consecrations.
If I had used Abomination, he could have wiped my board. But I didn't, and he conceded. Dang that was a fun game.
Very good deck, it is very resourceful. Lacking Sylvannas and replaced her with corrupted healbot. The first time you play him its not very good, but when N'Zoth plays him it is very fun.
Hey, this deck is kinda losing to slowest deck out there when they can effectively full clear your N'zoth board.
What I did is I replaced one twilight Summoner with Elise (same mana cost), I've been doing better versus those decks since then. Sacrificing a single deathrattle seems good if it increases your win chance against super slow decks with reliable board clear, such as equality combos or brawls.
Great deck! I'm 12-4 with it atm.
Thanks for your feedback, I didn't try it with Elise but I will give it a shot! It's true that for really slow match up this card can be really good. Glad you like the deck! :)
Fun and interesting deck. Have made it from rank 10 to 5, but now im struggling really hard against shamans. The lack of taunts seems to be the big issue. Is there any room for Abomination?
I would put 1 Abomination for 1 Excavated Evil I think. Otherwise I often get Abomination or Chillmaw out of Museum Curator.
Glad you like the deck! :)
wow!just wow!great deck.its the first time after 24+ more seasons that i am playing the Joffrey of HS and this deck rocks.
Thanks :)
are holy novas bad for this deck?
Well I think that WOG and C'Thun decks makes you face more 2 drops with 3 health. And as priest lost Lightbomb, I've the feeling that you need good AoE and 2 dmg it's not enough. It's often either you clean the board or you loose. So I findExcavated Evil more reliable.
ah i see, ty for the reply btw. do you think harrison has any room in this deck and can you explain how you use the pyromancers i really like how this deck looks just need some tips on how to play it i think
Well for now, as the meta is changing and not set up, Harrison would not be so great. I would say after a while if we see that the meta contain lots of weapon classes, then yes, adding Harrison would be good. That's some deck adjustment that need to be done later.
Wild Pyromancer is really usefull in 2 ways. If you are facing an aggro deck, I would use the combo Wild Pyromancer + Power Word: Shield to clean the board of early minions and keep it under control. If you are facing mid/control deck the best use of it would be Wild Pyromancer + Northshire Cleric, you play any spell to trigger the Wild Pyromancer and then Circle of Healing for drawing a lot of cards and take big asset on the game.
i have the same Q like ANgelic
What if you get herald in there because value on sylv, cairne, summoner, pyromancer(kinda), shade, auchenai(possibly) and cleric
Well, I thought this card was a bit too slow. I'm wondering if it's not overkill. I mean if you already have powerfull minions on the board, the game is most likely already won. And if you are behind, this card will not help. But I can give it a try and play games with it to have a better feedback.
