Guys, you need to remember this is a TOURNAMENT deck. 
This is meant to be good against specific decks and meta, not against a ladder filled with zoo and cancer

Reno is so often a dead card in my hand with this deck. So hard to have him active. I feel there's too many duplicates to even warrant including him.

How do you play with this deck against priest? Normally after an Alexstrasza they seem to be able to heal back up to 20-24 health, which makes it really hard to get enough damage to bring them down after the Alexstrasza. Just have to wait until you get the cards needed for the 30 damage maly combo and hope that you can survive long enough? Also, priests SW:Ps counter the freeze + Doomsayer combo.

If you're not facing much pressure on board, you should play Alex only if you have a virtually guaranteed 3 turn lethal (Alex, burn, more burn).

Reno Jackson is in here for the mirror matchup (Freeze Mage vs Freeze Mage). For instance:

Your opponent goes off with full combo, Evolved Kobold + 2x Frostbolt + 2x Ice Lance + Fireball, all discounted by Emperor Thaurissan for 30 damage, triggering your Ice Block.

Now, if this is your last ice block, you're in trouble, because even if you Alexstrasza yourself, you're opponent still has two more Forgotten Torches, presumably another Fireball, and possibly even a Pyroblast. There's no way you get past that with 15 health.

However, after Reno Jackson puts you back at 30, it's entirely possible that your opponent doesn't even have the damage in his entire deck to burn you out (assuming you kill the Kobold). His only chance is a big Archmage Antonidas play, which is not likely.

This is also a similar justification for Malygos in this deck. Freeze Mage doesn't run Polymorph, so if your opponent has Reno Jackson, you still do have the damage if he can't remove the Malygos.

This deck looks like it would be really fun, and it is. I just can't figure out how to play it very effectively.

It is a combo deck which means you need to preserve the key combo cards: mostly frostbolt and ice lance. There are many guides: Look up how to play freeze mage. Of course those guides are slightly out dated but, this deck is just a modified variation of that.

Yeah, I understand that the idea is to ideally drop Thaurissan with Malygos/2x Frostbolt/2x Ice Lance in hand. I just seem to never actually draw into the combo, or I never get enough of it to be lethal. Does anybody know of any videos/commentary on playing this Malygos rendition of freeze?

Reno freeze mage is heavily favored against regular freeze mage. Basically as malygos freeze mage you want to draw most of your deck anyways to get emporer discount on malygos, 2x Ice Bolt and 2x Ice Lance. At this point you'll most likely have drawn one copy of all your duplicate cards, and then Reno + Iceblock is 30 extra life.
