This deck got me from rank +2k Legend to Top 50 within 4 hours.

Mulligan & Match-ups (Top Tier Decks)
VS Pirate/Dragon Warrior - ALWAYS keep Spirit Claws, Small-Time Buccaneer, Tunnel Trogg and Totem Golem. SPECIFIC Cases: If you have Small-Time or Tunnel Trogg you want to keep Jade Claws. I also like to keep Feral Spirit if I have Tunnel Trogg, Coin and another 1 drop to follow on Turn 3. You might also want to keep Maelstrom Portal because it helps cleaning some of his early game. Keep Southsea Deckhand if you have any weapon because it has a good synergy with Patches the Pirate.
VS Aggro/Midrange Shaman - ALWAYS keep Spirit Claws, Small-Time Buccaneer, Tunnel Trogg and Totem Golem. SPECIFIC Cases: Same as the match-up against Pirate Warrior. You might consider keeping Bloodmage Thalnos if you have Spirit Claws and NO Coin so you can kill either Small-Time or Tunnel Trogg.
VS Dragon/Reno Priest - ALWAYS keep Spirit Claws, Small-Time Buccaneer, Tunnel Trogg and Totem Golem. SPECIFIC Cases: Same as the match-up against Pirate Warrior except for the Maelstrom Portal. If you have the Coin don't play Totem Golem because of Shadow Word: Pain. Bait him with a 1 Drop. Also if you have enough pressure you might consider not playing Flamewreathed Faceless because of Shadow Word: Death.
VS Miracle Rogue - ALWAYS keep Spirit Claws, Small-Time Buccaneer, Tunnel Trogg and Totem Golem. SPECIFIC Cases: Same as the match-up against Pirate Warrior expect for the Maelstrom Portal. Against Rogue is all about pressure. Put as much minions as you can on board since he doesn't have clear ways of AoE except for Fan of Knives with Spell Damage maybe.
VS Reno Warlock - ALWAYS keep Spirit Claws, Small-Time Buccaneer, Tunnel Trogg and Totem Golem. SPECIFIC Cases: Same as the match-up against Pirate Warrior except for the Maelstrom Portal. You might want to keep Flamewreathed Faceless if you have the Coin because it's really difficult for him to deal with a 4 mana 7/7. Once again all about pressure, try to kill him before turn 6 because of Reno Jackson.
VS Jade/Kun Druid - ALWAYS keep Spirit Claws, Small-Time Buccaneer, Tunnel Trogg and Totem Golem. SPECIFIC Cases: Same as the match-up against Pirate Warrior except for the Maelstrom Portal. This is a tricky match-up. Try to keep board pressure and kill him fast so he doesn't get to Ancient of War and you can't deal with it.

Question- should i replace any one copy of a card to add another Southsea Deckhand because i feel its needed to have atleast 4 pirates and having one of them just makes it feel weird
maybe a Feral Spirit? please give me your input on this if you could if i can or should or not
No bloodmage should i still play this deck until i craft it? If so any replacements?
Any replacement ideas for spirit claws? and Does replacing maelstorm portal with lightning storm work?

I just hit legend for the first time with this deck. It's the best Aggro Shaman deck out there IMO. Also, if you're struggling to go from 5-Legend, hit Afonso (the deck author) up on GamerSensei for some coaching. It changed EVERYTHING for me.
I just did the same (1st time legend) with an absolutely ridiculous 14-0 run all the way to the end.
I first picked SuperJJ's Zagreb Arena list with Finley and 2 deckhands. At rank 3 my win-rate dropped from 67% at rank 4 to 53%. So I switched to this list replacing a deckhand and Finley with Azure Drakes and never lost a game since.
This is insane for a few reasons:
If anyone's interested, out of those 14 there were 2 miracle rogues (almost auto-win for this deck without huge early VanCleefs), 1 druid (haven't seen no jades), 1 reno-mage, 2 pirate warriors, 1 control warrior (!) and 7 aggro shamans.
I got right onto Legend 624 after defeating 1481 Legend in the final game.
I think this is a pretty huge example of how aggro decks are just ridiculously favoured on ladder.
Man, I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Maybe I'm just dumb, but I CANNOT win with this deck. It has been getting crushed by everything...
Are you guys going mostly face or straight trading? I feel like when I trade I lose steam late game against most decks.. mostly Drag Priest and RenoLock and mage..
Depends on the matchup. If it is a Reno deck, i always ignore trades, unless it can lead to REALLY unfavored trades.
Against Aggro, its a bit strange. Try to get as much value from trading as possible, and don't let your opponent overwhelm you by trading.
Against late game, you can't really afford to be dragged to turn 9-10, as you will run out of cards. Try ending the game as soon as possible, and always ignore trades that aren't ridiculously good for your opponent.
This deck is reaaaallllyy good !! 15-0, hard times with reno mage, but thats it ! GG ! changed patches with Leeroy, good finisher

I'm pretty sure -1 horseriger + 1 finley would be better. A hero power that's capable of doing damage or drawing cards is better in the later stages of the game. You already have double drakes and a thalnos for the spirit claws synergy.
I don't get the hype about Finley. Everytime I play him and I don't get the warlock hero power (or hunter for finishing), I wish I could just stick to the shaman hero power. Taunt and Spell Power Totem are just so valuable and even the heal totem can be powerful
Like I said,you already have thalnos and azure drakes for the spell power synergy. You don't always need the hunter or warlock hero power. Mage and druid can be good, depending on the matchup. Just hope you don't get rogue, priest, and paladin. You're not even guranteed to get a taunt totem, so why not replace it with a non-rng one?
I played literally same list maybe week ago. OK vs rogue and everything else but face warrior now has so many variations its insane I just keep losing vs them. (climbed from 14-5 in win streak lost only 1 or 2 games ) now stuck in 5-4.
Which minions do you trade vs warrior if you trade at all ? I noticed 3 variants ( classic(from start of msg, most upvotes on hearthpwn), but there are some with few dragons(Drakonid Crusher and Alexstrasza's Champion) and with 3/3 pirate that buffs and few extra pitrates. They just swarm the board and if need kill your minion with upgraded weapon. You just cant win in face race. and if you trade you most probably have to do it with weapon so you take double damage to the face and die faster.How do you play this matchups ?

Played your deck today went from rank 10 to 7 then got a bit held back by rogue and warrior(unlucky draws). Then switched 1 rider with finley and 1 drake with doomhammer and got rigth away to rank 5 with a streak. I like the previous idea too i just think that the doomhammer is very powerful here too
Why would you use doomhammer without rock? That is stupid tbh. If you want to use that combo you should follow a different smorc deck. I like this one because it does not have that combo, and has more draws instead.
