1st list posted!
I've climbed to rank 5 the past few seasons relatively easily with "meta decks." I have never tried to climb past rank 5 due to having a full time job, and general lack of grinding time. I'm not a pro, but just a normal ladder player who gets as salty as the next guy. This season seems really stagnant and boring in terms of deck choice. Patches is great, but I swear I'm cursed and draw him an ungodly amount of games within the first 2 turns. This Zoo/Discard/Demon deck is nothing ground breaking or new, but just a stock list that I made slight changes too. It is still very early in the Feb '17 season, but I have been having very convincing wins. I've faced more control than aggro so far which is surprising to me. This deck has some killer interactions and large burst damage that keeps control decks guessing if theyre dead or not next turn. It also has an advantage going into games as most opponents are expecting you to be Renolock and mulligan incorrectly. I'm looking for any advice for more tuning, but think the list is very solid as is and wanted to share it. This list is also VERY cheap to build for the power level in my opinion.
Side note- I despise Reno Jackson, and think hes the biggest scum shitter to have ever been printed. I've played other CCGs such as MTG off and on my whole life and have always enjoyed finely tuned aggro decks where every turn and trade counts or combo. Reno rewards sloppy decision making and stomps some decks by simply just playing it.
Not going to provide a detailed mulligan/strategy guide. In short, mulligan for a solid curve and keep the board clear. Also don't be afraid to go for some all ins vs control, especially if theyve burned an early sweeper. Going for broke even in discard situations often pay off as you can always tap into more cards.
Have fun and look forward to getting trolled by shitters!
Great deck, went from 20 to 15 without a single loss. Had some wicked matches when I thought it was over and still managed to win. Gonna keep pushing it later to see how far it can go.
Only change I made was another Crystalweaver over the Defender of Argus
Thank you, Sir. Take my +1.
We're gonna be rich!
Is there any replacement for Imp Gang Boss?
I thought so. I guess I'll wait too see what shape zoo takes after the rotation - will be easier for me to get all the cards.
If you're in a pinch I've found Imp Master is a decent replacement.
What can I replace dark peddler with
dark peddler is pretty awesome I wouldn't suggest you take him out to be honest.
crap deck some totally useless cards dont get fooled by the upvote amount
Well, considering that many aggro decks are tuned to deal a specific amount of damage as fast as possible due to poor mid/late game, every decision to get there means a lot more than simply slamming down a single card like Reno. Most aggro right now isn't straight face with maybe the except of pirate warrior. You need to make important trade/face decisions every turn as your cards quickly lose power with each turn that passes. But, yeah LUL!
I like Silverware Golem. Actually I play a more radical version of discardlock. It doesn't matter much what you discard. The golem, fist of Jaraxxus and other cards are a bonus, I guess. I won many matches thanks to them, though.
First time I've seen a Silverware Golem in a deck. How consistent is it?
Well to be honest , its not as consistent as I'd like. You have a solid chance of getting it with Doomguard due to your hand being pretty low by the time you hit turn 5 or 6. The Soulfire aka hailmary to get golem out early usually misses.
First time, really? It has probably been in every zoolock deck since the card came out :-) The value you get from it is insane. Picture this: for two mana, you can play a 1/3 (Malchezaar's Imp), a 3/3 (Silverware Golem), remove a decent size minion (Soulfire) and draw a card. You may not always discard it, but it's not difficult to make it happen if you know how to pilot zoolock.
Played a few matches with this deck and first time playing it Soulfire did that very thing even with 4 other cards in my hand!
Great fun. Dusted my Knife Jugglers yesterday so I added a Reliquary Seeker. Works well since by the time I draw it my board is basically full. Cheers!
