If you would like to ask me any questions directly and live or be one step ahead of the meta check out my stream at http://www.twitch.tv/sigmasrb at 6 PM CEST almost every day and follow the feeds on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/sigmasrb) or Twitter (https://twitter.com/sigmasrb) for all news! I will try to stream at this time in between 3-5 days a week where I will be playing all of my decks posted here plus some other ones.
Hey guys, Sigma here! First off, sorry for taking so long to upload a deck since the new expansion came out, I've been working on my analysis of the top 10 cards which you can find here: http://goo.gl/MakktM. The second reason is that I really wanted to playtest the decks and make sure that they are good before posting any that would more go into theorycrafting than them being an actual, working deck.
So, without further ado, I present to you my Dreamrattle Paladin, which is a mix of a dragon paladin with a pinch of old Gods, in this case, the almighty N'Zoth, the Corruptor. The deck is working similar to the N'Zoth paladin that is quite present in the meta right now, but is relying on assembling your board presence early on with minions like Faerie Dragon and Blackwing Technician, reinforcing it with strong mid game with the help of Twilight Guardian, Dragon Consort and the high impact Blackwing Corruptor, all while controlling the onslaught of big enemy minions like Flamewreathed Faceless with Aldor Peacekeepers and Keeper of Uldaman and topping it off with the strong deathrattle minions like Sylvanas Windrunner or Tirion Fordring. As nobody will expect a dragon paladin in the first place, N'Zoth will definitely come as a surprise for your opponent. (I've had warriors use both brawls before I drop N'Zoth, simply because they don't expect him).
The A Light in the Darkness always throws people off and confuses them and I see it as as potentially amazing card, as I've gotten Ragnaros, Lightlord out of it more than 5 times and also the cards like Keeper of Uldaman and Aldor Peacekeeper are seen quite commonly as the chances are 4:1 that you will get a paladin minion. 9/9 Ragnaros ftw. Here are some of the screenshots of why this deck rules:
3/6 taunt with divine shield on turn 4? Who doesn't want something like this?
C'Thun decks are as good as won. The 2/3 taunt I got from the A Light in the Darkness.
9/9 Ragnaros PogChamp

I have a lot more amazing screenshots but these are some of them. I've managed to get a lot of amazing things from the A Light in the Darkness, but I believe two copies might be too much. Just go try out the deck and steer away from the meta that is practically already formed! It's time for dragons! The Mulligan, Strategy, Card Replacements and maybe Match-ups (if the meta forms until then) will be available to you guys here pretty soon! Only thing you gotta do is to show the love!
FAQ
Would Deathwing, Dragonlord be a good fit in the deck?
I personally would say no. The reason is that the dragons are usually used for tempo plays here and for the card draw so if you have more than 2 dragons in your hand by the time Deathwing should be dying, something wrong happened. Besides that I've heard that Deathwings Deathrattle is almost never triggered, as the opponent will probably just ignore it and try to kill you. Deathwing might fit a little bit better in the dragon priest as they have the more controlish aspect to them than the paladin, and especially this one, who relies on tempo early game.
2. What are the replacements for ______?
The replacements will be included with the entire guide which will come out in a day or two. I am really sorry this is so late but I've been busy making a video for this deck and the video for a rogue that has The Ancient One played.
Finally, a big thank you to my first patron, Bearmec! If you would also want to help out by becoming a patron and getting some really amazing perks that you can use on my stream, you can do so at www.patreon.com/sigmasrb!
Cheers for checking out yet another Sigma's deck and as always, the constructive criticism and any suggestions to improve the deck are warmly accepted! See you on the stream!
Cheers,
Sigma
I dunno, when I put N'Zoth in play with this deck (or rather, very, very similar one) Chillmaw usually doesn't trigger. It happens in two situations: 1. I try playing him WITHOUT dragons in hand, as kind of very-lategame threat in control matchup, or 2. when I even would like to clear the board, but my luck doesn't allow me to draw an activator for the deathrattle
You'll still have a 5/4 N'Zoth, 6/6 Taunt and a 5/2 Sylvanas on board. I'd say your still in a pretty good position :p
Man despite the high mana curve this deck is pretty good, I'm winning even against aggro decks. (All priests I faced wrecked me thought).
I don't have Chillmaw then I put a Wild Pyromancer so it makes Equality and Consecration more effective.
Some questions I have - Is nzoth worth having in the deck with only 3 deathrattle cards? Also I'm having alot of trouble in the early game... Thinking of adding another equality, or a pyromancer for equality... Shaman and zoo are running all over me.... What would anyone recommend?
Hey dude, To answer your first question yes! people think greedy when they think of N'Zoth, the Corruptor's battlecry there is actually benefits to having only a few, For one it's more consistent you know exactly what's going to come back if you've played your three deathrattle's.
Personally i've modified this deck Sigma laid a great foundation but they're's advantages to tweaking it yourself you can make it work for YOU! and people don't know every card you have!
I found aggro a big problem so i added 2xWild Pyromancer's and it works really well.
Hearthstone is consuming your time.
Heal 8+ equality pyromancer turn 8 usually be the play that decide the game vs any agressive deck. Pyromancer+coin+healing turn 3 can work as a mini board clear vs Zoo. After playing Doomsayer you can have a free turn to heal 20, after Tirion you can heal 18-20, this card alone give pally pottentially +40 health so with Ragnaros and this card Pally can heal not less than Priest and still have a better board clear than auchenai + Circle.
I tried your list + OP's and still get wrecked by aggro (specifically shaman).
i'm replace Ragnaros, Lightlord for Deathwing, Dragonlord. Most compatible for dragon and deathratle.
And
- 1 Dragon Consort
- 1 Chillmaw (not good for N'Zoth, the Corruptor)
+ 2 Scaled Nightmare
After playing NZot Chillmaw help my opponent (kill Silvanas and drop Tirions shield). And so Scaled Nightmare help me control board in mid game. Chillmaw very good against aggro, but my early minions also good work.
P.S. Sorry for my english... :)
I feel like the trick to playing this deck well, is to treat it like a mid-range/tempo deck. You don't really want to get to N'zoth, but if you do, you set yourself up well.
Ok so I finally crafted chillmaw and tried this deck. I always liked dragons so now I have all of them. Here are my alterations:
-2 Dragon Consort: I've found out they have the worst effect in the deck and it's battlecry doesn't give some huge tempo. Also the activation of the blackwings tec & corruptor and twillight drake can be done by azure drake which I consider much better.
-1 Ysera: removing consorts makes ysera too slow.
+1 Redemption: with such nice deathrattles, a redemption well used gives you insta concedes. Tirion and this on turn 9 is awesome. Also empowers nzoth battlecry making it a concedecry when it brings 2 more Tirions. That's what I consider value. Funny, useful, what else?
+1 Equality: for more board removal. Sometimes you have lots of recruits so equality can help them trade with everything else.
+1 Acolyte of Pain: this deck really needs draw and early game tools so this guy bring us both.
Cheers,
What are the thoughts behind Faerie Dragon?
When this deck fails, it fails miserably. You very often get behind early.
What is a sub for Chillmaw? i have everything else
I'm thinking about crafting Chillmaw for this deck, but maybe try out Abomination in the meantime? Fits the aoe, taunt, deathrattle role but worse against patrons and without the dragon synergy.
what about Bloodmage Thalnos for the draw, deathrattle, and potential boosts for consecrations?
I'd say Loot hoarder would likely be better than thalnos because you're almost never going to get the combo off with consecration
I am thinking of crafting Ragnaros, Lightlord to play a deck similar to this. This deck looks like it has very little draw. Anyone play this deck that can comment on the draw?
Have played it a few times...but don't see draw as being problematic. Could perhaps add another Light in the Darkness if became an issue, but with two Azure Drakes, it should not.
Given how sticky many of the minions are, it is fine for me.
