Update: Some have suggested swapping in another Explosive Trap for the Freezing Trap. Past rank 5 I have some success by doing so, but Freezing Trap can be a game saver against control matchups. Some have also swapped 2x Huge Toad for 2x King's Elekk. I made the change, but I ultimately ended up switching back to Elekk because I prefer the potential card draw and deck information it provides. 1x Deadly Shot or 1x Eaglehorn Bow seem to be they best cards to substitute if you're looking to put in another card like Unleash the Hounds or something else to combat the current meta.
I also just want to say thank you for checking out my deck. This is the first one I have posted, and I am thrilled that the HearthPwn community has been interested enough to comment and share their own iterations. I regularly check this site for deck building ideas and wanted to finally contribute one of my own. Good luck out there.
The goal of this deck is to put early pressure on the opponent with sticky deathrattle minions while using traps/weapons/removal to gain a tempo advantage until you draw into Call of the Wild to finish.
I had Kindly Grandmother replace 2x Huge Toad instead of King's Elekk. I prefer the potential card draw and deck information provided from Elekk's joust.
Barnes was swapped for Stranglethorn Tiger. He consistently pulls good deathrattle minions (Infested Wolf, Savannah Highmane, Kindly Grandmother) or a 1/1 Argent Horserider. Worst case scenario is a 1/1 Elek or Houndmaster.
Kindly Grandmother is a great addition and along with Infested Wolf they allow Houndmaster to have reliable battlecry targets. Also greater likelihood that the sticky minions will be around for Call of the Wild/Animal Companion buff from Leokk.
This was the first deck I've posted on here, and your video was fun to watch! Thank for trying trying it out. Subbed to the channel.
Wow first deck nice sir :D ! Glad you like the spotlight vid and I appreciate that sub support ;P !
I dont have quick shot.. with what i replace it? good deck i think, tumbs up
I am going to test this deck out ive been playing normal nzoth barnes build and its very streaky as well lost only 2 reaching 5 but from 5 to legend is so hard. Can you make a guide on this deck btw?
I'm working on a guide; thanks for checking it out! Good luck.
sick looking deck... pre legion hype has me too invested in wow at the minute to really try it out as that invasion XP is just too good to pass up (also demon hunters, I'd like to see them appear in hearthstone now)
So i started using this deck at rank 5, now for the first time i reach legendary with at least 65% win rate. Good and stable play. Thanks for posting this deck.
should i use ragnaros in this deck
Very fun deck but seems very streaky, unless I play wrong. I went from rank 19 to 11 with it and then promptly started losing game after game and went from 11 to 20. The losing games seam like my opponent has the perfect answer and exactly what he needs in his hand plus I am playing catch up the whole game. Not sure how I feel bout grandmother because it is slow. Barnes seems useless to because whatever 1/1 it summons just dies.
The point of Barnes is that the 1/1 dies. This deck has several deathrattles that are beneficial if they're triggered, so the 1/1 body isn't as important. I'm currently sitting halfway up Rank 6, and the only losses have basically been bad draws. Here's my last 20 games:
Almost all of these games were blowouts in my favor. There were a couple times my opponent had a God draw and just totally wrecked me, but for the rest of the losses, I was 1 turn away from lethal.
If this deck has a weakness, it's that it's low on early game, and there's a lot of overlap in the 2/3-drop slots. I played off-curve often just to maintain tempo. It's also sadly easy to get a draw full of mid or late-game trash. Do that against the wrong opponent, and you'll never catch up. Barnes also misses frequently, pulling the King's Elekk orHoundmaster. I'm starting to think it might be worthwhile to replace one Argent Horserider with Brann Bronzebeard to fix that, but there aren't enough battlecries to justify it.
Either way, it's pretty fun.
I changed 2x Argent Horserider for 2x Knife Juggler and 1x Deadly Shot for 1x Unleash the Hounds.
I just love the juggler+hounds combo-wombo, zoo and smorc shamans just cry -_-
Also I have 1x Stranglethorn Tiger, its a good 7-drop before Call of the Wild. I think Ragnaros can be good also, need some tests.
Explosive Trap is useless with 2x jugglers ofc.
tiger just sucks in my opinion in this deck, you already get houndmasters from Barnes i mean tiger could be used with houndmaster but it just doesn't work for me as well. I do want to swap a deadly shot for something not sure what.
Nice deck. If you want to play more secrets and utilize Cloaked Huntress, you can try my list. Similar core, with Ragnaros as an extra finisher and Barnes target.
Really fun deck to play! Thanks for sharing.
Insane win streak here, great deck!
Can i replace quick shot ? , i don't have it D:
craft it, it's cheap and it's a must have in almost hunter decks
crafting quick shot LUL
LOL
Arcane Shot, but it's not the same.
