Update: Some have suggested swapping in another Explosive Trap for the Freezing Trap. Past rank 5 I have some success by doing so, but Freezing Trap can be a game saver against control matchups. Some have also swapped 2x Huge Toad for 2x King's Elekk. I made the change, but I ultimately ended up switching back to Elekk because I prefer the potential card draw and deck information it provides. 1x Deadly Shot or 1x Eaglehorn Bow seem to be they best cards to substitute if you're looking to put in another card like Unleash the Hounds or something else to combat the current meta.
I also just want to say thank you for checking out my deck. This is the first one I have posted, and I am thrilled that the HearthPwn community has been interested enough to comment and share their own iterations. I regularly check this site for deck building ideas and wanted to finally contribute one of my own. Good luck out there.
The goal of this deck is to put early pressure on the opponent with sticky deathrattle minions while using traps/weapons/removal to gain a tempo advantage until you draw into Call of the Wild to finish.
I had Kindly Grandmother replace 2x Huge Toad instead of King's Elekk. I prefer the potential card draw and deck information provided from Elekk's joust.
Barnes was swapped for Stranglethorn Tiger. He consistently pulls good deathrattle minions (Infested Wolf, Savannah Highmane, Kindly Grandmother) or a 1/1 Argent Horserider. Worst case scenario is a 1/1 Elek or Houndmaster.
Kindly Grandmother is a great addition and along with Infested Wolf they allow Houndmaster to have reliable battlecry targets. Also greater likelihood that the sticky minions will be around for Call of the Wild/Animal Companion buff from Leokk.
what can be replaced Argent Horserider × 2 ?
I have it,but I don't like this card in the deck
What don´t you like about them? They are very good cards in a Hunter deck.
I replaced one of mine with a Arcane Shot if that helps (but not both of them).
I really like this deck, but I did replace a single copy of both Argent Horserider and Infested Wolf for Arcane Shot and On the Hunt. While I was testing the deck I came into a few situtation where if I had an Arcane Shot instead of the Argent Horserider then I could have gained a bigger tempo lead. I also didn't find many situations to use Infested Wolf, so having two in the deck didn't seem justified.
I also think that 1 Deadly Shot could be replaced with an extra Unleash the Hounds since I found myself in a few situations where an UtH would have been game winning (but more testing is needed since DS has killed quite a few 4 mana 7/7s).
From 11-8, it seems like this is weakest to... itself? In every other game I lost, I was 1 turn away from lethal, and it could have easily gone either way. Including the Reno Malygos Freeze Mage that held me off for infinite rounds. Not bad!
I just lose too much with this deck in around rank 10. For the whole day I had been losing with this deck and then regaining my ranks back with Yogg pew pew huntard (with newly added arcane giant).
Mulligan?
I prefer 2 Huge Toads instead of the 2 traps.
An insane deck. I have made some modifications to it but I went from 8-5 today! (one win away from 4 twice)
Mind telling what kind of modifications? :)
For me too please.
This is a great deck, I just skyrocketed in ranking with it. Went from rank 9 to 5 in a little over an hour.
- explosive trap
- freezing trap
+ 2 knife juggler
Yo, I made a video about this deck. It's quite interesting to see 2 deadly shots and 1 unleash the hounds, in a more control oriented meta, deadly shots can be strong, but I guess that if you face more aggro 2 unleashes are better. I also like Huge Toad more than King's Elekk, cause with a toad you can clear a Totem Golem or an Imp Gang Boss for example. Overall the deck is worth trying. Check out my video and leave a comment or two.
I hate that unless you have double call of the wild you can't play hunter at all.
Same thing with rogue and preparation.
800 dust for two cards is cheaper than 1600 for a legendary, or many legendaries that some decks run...
My gripe with rogue isn't prep, it's vancleef + thalnos.
I have both of those, yet somehow I have still never gotten a single prep.
I never got a single prep too (nor Thalnos), but I've crafted them both by now.
Today I crafted my second Call of the Wild..
I had several decks that I couldn't play because I never got the cards... It took me more than a year to get one copy of force of nature (than it was nerfed). I didn't get Ancient of Lore too until it was nerfed.
I'm still missing two copies of Darnassus Aspirant.. So I didn't really play druid until WoToG..
And I crafted Vol'Jin an hour before the Standard-Announcement (where it dropped out).
Shit happens :-)

I'll try the deck on my way home, but it looks useable :)
Try playing shaman without Doomhammer
